This is the dmc file I import, baywatch.dmc. Since those files are so small I zipped all the files I have :). Import them using the SetDMD program, included in zip, in case you didn't have it.

I don't miss the colored DMD's, even if they look much better than simply 4 colors, but the normal vpinmame is easier for me to setup :) And for the desktop they are really nice :)

You need to do some changes to the table and script. I guess you know them, but in case others don't know. Do this:

- Backdrop: set color white to the text box ScoreText

- Script: find UseVPMDMD and replace it with UseVPMColoredDMD, it is only in 3 places at the beginning of the script.

That's all :)

Thanks a lot, JP

In fact, I didn't know anything about that stuff (as many other things about VPinball and VPinMAME), but I'm a very old school guy :))

Anyway, it's a fantastic tool, and I wonder if there are some others I've never heard about :)

Glad I could help! Though I am still struggling with sizing my DMD smaller in height, so I accepted that the top is slighly cut off and just enjoy the table. Not like you're looking at the DMD steady anyway. You eyes should be on Pamela's breasts LOL.

Try this - Set this to true
This will use your default settings and fill the DMD area
; ignore the aspect ratio of the rendered dots when resizing
ignorear = true
-
Or you can add a exception to the DmdDevice.ini file
This will use aspect ration and not fill the DMD area
Adjust settings as needed
[Rom Name]
virtualdmd left = 2144
virtualdmd top = 712
virtualdmd width = 1280
virtualdmd height = 225

Thank you outhere! I tried the suggested method, but the son of a b**** still doesn't want to resize no matter what I do. I have the width set perfectly, but the top is slightly cut off. If I resize it manually, it's perfect, but won't stay after I reload the table. I also tried in the registry with the same result. As I said, I am happy with the way it's now, but would be perfect if it could be the same size as all my other DMD's. But NO, SEGA has to be different LOL.

I discovered you must completely close out of VPX after adjusting DMD parameters in the DMDDevice.ini file.  Relaunch VPX and your adjustments to the DMD will show.  If you need to move it a little I chose 50 pixels, saved the changes to the DMDDevice.Ini, closed VPX and relaunched VPX.  Rinse and repeat until you like the results.  This is using Freezy 1.71.   Also make sure you are using the correct DMDDevice.ini file as you may have a few floating around in subfolders that aren't being used and shouldn't be there.

Thank you Bushav. This method worked great 🙂👍

I only have a two screen cabinet with NO external DMD.  Typically I just edit the x/y locations if the DMD does not save but for whatever reason that is not working for this table.  What am I missing?

Thanks,
Rich

If you change the position via script, you must delete the apostrophe that is in front of the line.

.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("dmd_pos_x")=0
.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("dmd_pos_y")=0

Ah yes...duh!  :)  Now to track down tables I had this issue with before so I can get the exact position as I cannot seem to get it off the playing field.

thanks!

Kiwi -- Just played a bunch more tonight. That flasher DMD and beautiful backbox you created look amazing in VR. Physics are great. So many intricate wireforms. This table must have been a beast to build. Wonderful work. It's a gem.

For future updates,
I put an option in the scripts to activate the backglass in desktop mode,
maybe it's the preferred mode for those who use VR.

Thank you all!

For VR, I used desktop mode and turned textdmd off, and flasherdmd on via script. Works great! Extra large Sega DMD is striking,

Perfect, that's basically what the option I added does, and that for now only works in FSS mode.

I finally got a chance to play your release quite a bit.  It did NOT disappoint, you nailed what makes this pin so special:  all the shots require skill, are properly designed in VPX just like the real pin and the flow is great as well.  Damn this is a fine pin, the incredible amount of different shots in this game is staggering!  Looking at the playfield, you'd swear it's a widebody pin!  It's unfair that the theme is uninteresting to some, as it's a fantastic game.  Go beyond the theme people and just play it and go down the rabbit hole that is BayWatch!

Tried it in VR (both this release and the VR room). It's fantastic, super clear and the frame rate is perfection!  I'm not able to see the DMD though (well, I think it's itty bitsy small to the bottom left behind the backbox). it's 2am here will figure it out tomorrow lol.  Yes, I played your release for a good 30 min and the VR Room version for about an hour, your release is so smooth I didn't mind playing it without the DMD.  Got crap of a score in the video mode though ;)
