lamps with 5v and 12v for the solenoids - just a PC power supply. I've considered going to 24v so the chimes cycle a little faster. With a smaller box it doesn't need to be any louder. Needed to add glass or it was too loud.

Proud owner of a stubby here as well:

Full DOF using real pin mechs. The flippers, slings, bumpers all work under the glass.

Did you by chance make an instructional on how you built this? I love it. I am putting together my first stubby. V2 I want to add active feedback, and I love the idea of actual parts.

Saw this product, for those who are not skilled and or have time making their own. It's not perfect! Could be wider and with feet... and wireless would be nice...
But 1 of the few options outside building it yourself.

When did stubbys start? Just curious if I had the first one.... I made this in 2010 running vp8. It used to be called the Kenwood Pinball since I made it from a Kenwood stereo cabinet.

Found it second hand (very lucky!), only €125, and put a keyboard standard below it (€55 new) which you can adjust in width and height. The controller is heavy enough so no need to secure it, it's firmly and stable in place.
Also got clips on the back so you can open it in a second if needed.
