First of all...thanks so much for all your work DDH69. Got the backglasses installed as directed..did not rename anything. About 70 % of the fx3 backglasses work but 30% do not....also, marvel women of power backglass shows up on all the marvel tables...any ideas?

Presuming by not working you mean not displaying at all?

Easiest way is to set DEBUG=2 in your DOFLinx.INI file and read what is going on in DOFLinx.LOG.  The log will show what backglass its trying to open and if it is / isn't found.

Check that you only have one one copy (single folder) for all of the backglasses.  I've seen where people mix FX2 and FX3 backglasses, they are different paths that need setting up in DOFLinx.INI.

Not following here, please help.  How do you set a command line argument in a shortcut?  (in the Target line??)  I may be overthinking this.

1.6 Set the properties of the DOFLinx start-up shortcut to have “PATH_INI=C:\DirectOutput\DOFLinx_INI\ DISABLEDOF=YES” as a command line argument without the double quotes.  Note the space between “… _INI\” and “DISAB ….”

Can you show me where this command line goes?  Thank You very much DDH69!!  Really appreciate this mod

For example take any file, slect it and hit control C or right click and pick copy

Now, go right click your desktop and pick paste shortcut

then right click the shortcut and pick properties

in the target box where it shows the path to DOF, add a space after that and then put the PATH_INI=C:\DirectOutput\DOFLinx_INI\ DISABLEDOF=YES

So the target line would say like

C:\dof\dof.exe PATH_INI=C:\DirectOutput\DOFLinx_INI\ DISABLEDOF=YES

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Spend it on Hookers and Blow

Ah!! Got IT!!  just add "PATH_INI=C:\DirectOutput\DOFLinx_INI\ DISABLEDOF=YES" to the Target!!  I was trying to modify the line, not add it.

THANKS so much!

Thanks!  I should have remembered this from post #7, too!

Here is the setup in the Windows shortcut box.  Its in two images as one screen shot cannot show the entire entry within the field.  Look for the highlighted part.

I know this is an old topic but I'm having an issue getting the backglass to show on my display. I'm pretty sure everything is set up correctly. I just installed 7.21 of Doflinx. When I run FX3 no backglass appears. If I Alt Tab I can see it and it says Form 1 on the window it is in. So it looks like it's on the wrong display maybe? In the B2s Server my display for backglasses is number 2 which is also the number in my display settings. The B2S server is set up correctly and works with all my VP tables. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Oh, and this is the first time I have ever tried to get this set up..

Thanks, I just found the fix in one of the readme's. I had to turn off reposition backglass in the FX3 Cabinet settings.

I think I'm almost there with getting this to work, but what do I need to make the backglass for FX3 tables fully "active"?  I'm able to load the table fine, and I can see the backglass on my second screen, but it doesn't do anything (scores are not rendered).  Are they supposed to work the same as in VPX?

UPDATE:  I got over the next hurdle. The (intended) path statement in my DOFLinx.ini is PATH_FX3=C:\DirectOutput\FX3_PUPlayer\ for the FX3 files. All of my FX3 tables are configured to use basic PUP Packs with animated videos except for the three new ones from Volume 6.  I noticed the three FX3 files for the new tables were missing from that folder, even though I unzipped everything required from DOFLinx V7.21.zip. Once I copied the three FX3 files from the "FX3" folder to the "FX3_PUPlayer" folder, backglass animation started to work.

I still cannot get the alphanumeric display to work. Is this by design?  Also, is there a reason FX3 files weren't included for the "FX3_PUPlayer" folder?

The active backglasses are setup for a three screen system.  You should be placing the FX3 DMD in your DMD location and setting the backglass to hide the DMD.

To my understanding, the backglass animation functions as expected, but the DMD is handled separately, so I should not expect the backglass' alphanumeric display to work.  Is that correct?

I have a two-screen system, so I'm not sure this will work for me unless I use the FX3 view that shows the DMD / alphanumeric information for those tables on the playfield.  I'll do some experimenting.

I appreciate your contributions to the community...nice work on the backglass!  Keep up the good work!

i make sure all the .fx3 files are in the dflinx_fx3 folder and all the directb2s files are in the doflinx_fx3_b2s folder.
i make sure doflinx.exe is running before i start fx3.
all i can see is my old 1080p back glass no active backglass. i am not sure what i am missing.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

I keep getting a strange error whenever I try to start DOFLinx.  I added DISABLEDOF=YES to the shortcut, but I keep getting the same error.  I see no documentation about a "IDUnderCab" setting.  Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?  I could have sworn I had DOFLinx working fine previously.
