@g5k: thanks for the images and the compliments!

Currently I am working on getting the Blender model of the table in shape. Modelling seems to be less work than getting the materials right. This is where I am currently (images may take some time to load, they are almost 4mb a piece):

I played Diner and Whitewater last night for hours. Tough to imagine better tables...until I loaded the TOTAN screenshots you attached above, that is! Amazing work, flupper. Thanks so much.

those oriental ornaments refracting in the ramps make the ramps look even more gorgeous than in your previous works!

I wonder, where all those high res images for playfield and plastics come from now?

Nevermind, forgot about the initial post. Pretty cool stuff, you delivered here, Clark Kent! :dblthumb:

I've been looking for this WIP since you posted a teaser on Skitso's table. You are definitely outdoing yourself on this table and that is REALLY saying something. Thank you for for all the time you spend making us feel like kids at Christmas time.

Like crown jewels and as a dicygotic twin blessed with every good attributes of the original pinball. Just before a few days I had the opportunity to play the original TOTAN together with a few more pinballs like White Water and now my anticipation reached a new zenith.

Before I give an update on Totan, I want to share with you where I went last weekend: the Dutch Pinball Museum...

img_0154_t.jpg

A great place to play pinball! They have many older models from the eighties and before, but also some really new ones: Houdini, Attack from Mars remake, The Hobbit, etc.

They have on display a mid-sized vritual pinball cabinet as well, with some familiar tables:

Fun to see a virtual pinball cabinet in the museum as well! Not sure if I am allowed to post this, but you can find the makers of this thing by searching on "digital pinball nl".

They even had a retired Totan Genie lying around:

They also have a working Totan, so I did some "research" by playing it for some time.

Back on topic: I have still been working on adding stuff to the Blender version of Totan. The results of the last couple of days:

And a test with the lower flashers:

Renders look fantastic man. Making me jealous;) Plastics look incredible love the how the Gi is making the plastics texture illuminate I'm having the hardest time getting it right in 3drmax. That chrome on that metal post is dead on. Beautiful. Flashers look great, almost blown out in the middle like that, perfect. I need to get to work;)
