i changed the exes to WIN2000 compatibility and now all of my vpx tables crash. i changed it back and removed the PUPplugin and they still crash...

Don't see how changing that setting would have any affect on VPX....   

 

if you remove the pup plugin you need to make sure you remove the pup folder from the b2s plugins (tables\plugins)....

 

what kind of 'crash' ?  error messages?

Howdy. 

I'm having an issue where the Topper pup window will not hide. 
Once a video plays, it is always there. Just a black window. Videos play, but then its just a black window. 

I've tried ALL options,  Always on, Hide when pause, Off... etc.  None of these settings seem to make a difference to the windows behavior. 

The back glass window is hiding when paused no worries. 
Just the topper window I'm having issues with. 

Any Ideas?

I've compiled a build for that one item...where you want to hide the topper but the script is using it.  You can grab the update  www.nailbuster.com/nailcode/PinUpDisplay_096.zip

 

there's no need for anyone else to grab this file as it only has the function of hiding the topper when used in script.  (you still need to set your topper to 'hide/disable' in the config.

Works like a charm. 
Tron is now my new favorite table. So pretty. Adds a massive element to the experience.

Hello, just had a crash when playing Tron Pup... about 20mn of play, no response from the table, ball frozen... and a pop up from pinup player Write Failed.

 

Otherwise it plays great !

 

Maybe a memory leak ?

uhhhm ... cant play the table anymore... it crashes everytime now (in 2 minutes ) like it had written somewhere that it crashed before.. i reboot the pincab everytime it crashes but no more luck 

 

i tried with pinballx -> crash

without pinballx -> crash

with pinsound -> crash

without pinsound -> crash

 

i dont get it ... i could play this time like 20 times before without a single pb and now since it crashed onced, it crashes all the time.

 

Any clue on this ?

PS: crash is , screen frozen and a pop up window generated by pinupplayer that says Write Failed. And when i want to stop the pc, its says that a COM is in use and i have risks to lost data.

if any 'brave' souls with issues that want to try and see if this fixes their issues....  Here's a build 'just-out-of-the-oven'.   www.nailbuster.com/nailcode/PinUPPlayer_build_098b.zip

 

 

Note:  To update... I would delete all PUP folders (make a backup of your PinUpPlayer.ini file so you don't have to setup your screens again)....remember to remove the PinUPb2splugin folder as well....and then start from scratch with this build.

 

Things to NOTE:  PinUpPlayer DOES NOT install anything, does NOT change any of your vpx/pinballx/b2s settings/INIs/registry....it doesn't even touch your registry for anything. 

 

I made sure that if you want to remove PuP just remove the PuP files/folders and just don't use PuP Tables....simple

 

If you are getting errors starting OTHER tables after installing PuP....then the only way PuP can affect other tables is with the B2S plugin.  You can remove the PupB2s plugin folder and restart....and your b2s/cab will not be affected.

 

I'm trying a 'different' method in this build so that windows7 (or other security issues) should be minimized....but who knows....

I remember now, i have just changed my pinballx beta version a few hours ago (rev 2342 , i had 2324 i think) , maybe its the origin of my crashes... i fear i havent no more the ancien sources for the beta 2324... somebody have this somewhere ?

 

i will first try to reinstall  your new version Nailbuster ans see if my pbs are gone with it.

Just tested. had a good game..; gone to sea of simulation, no crash 

 

just installed your new version, keep the latest vp10 beta build.

 

And no more need to set the exe in w2000 compatibility mode   (or maybe its on by default , i didnt checked)

Ps: just the first time i launched the table, the pupscreens were all black and stay above my backglass but as soon as i had an event with a video the behavior returned to normal.. and the second time i launched the table no pb with black screen .

Also having issues with the topper playing when disabled and leaving a black box so I have enabled it and placed over the backglass video so BG runs full size and the topper is now enabled and no more black box. The topper runs at lower part of the BG screen 

still have an issue with the plugin not beaing able to check if set to active when clicking on the B2s but its working for the moment

Hello, did some tests today, play the table intensively (but didnt managed to go to sea of simulation this time ) for about 1 hour, No crashes at all (under pinballx windows fullscreen and with pinsound in background)

 

 

I loved this table before (and the real pinball) and now its definitively my favorite   excellent use of the movies videos (just rewatched the movie last night)

Pinup Player is running fine and looking GREAT with the TRON PUP table. I am only using the backglass video, so no topper or dmd.

When I manually launch the tabel in VPX it is ok. Sadly when I start the table from PINBALLX, the B2S does not load. I get an error message from b2sserver that it cannot load the file .b2sserver... so somewhere in the parameters it lost the table name and is looking for ".b2sserver" which ofcourse it cannot find...

 

Is it because of pinup player running as an extra tool that the parameters or messed up?

 

Also I noticed that after closing the table in VPX and exiting VPX, the PinUpDisplay tool keeps running, so it is not auto-closing.

Q: A PUP window does come up in the system tray but no video. What could I be missing?

Q: How do I know if the PUP .dll files are blocked? (Not saying they are as I get no errors)?

✔ VLC installed as per reco’d settings

✔ Tron PUP table plays fine  [Tron_Legacy_(PuP_Edition)] or do I need to use table “PMD_1.1”?

✔ Tron LE.directb2s renamed to match table name

✔ Tron Video files in reco’d folder

✔ trn_174h folder “blank” created in same subdirectory as Tron Videos.

✔ PinUpPlayer installed and tested  (set topper to audio only and moved backgalss and DMD into place on screen #2 of cabinet)

✔ defaults are set to show popup

✔ PINUP plugin is active via back glass

✔Cut and paste ‘PinUPPlayerB2SDriver’ folder to a new or existing ‘Plugins’ subfolder within ‘Table’

✔click plugin setting of Backglass the driver has to be in the list and show as active                                                                                              

✔ switched to direct X did not work switched back to default

I'm assuming you're using win7 as mostly al) issues have been with 7,,,

 

if you don't see 'unblock' checkbox when you righ-click on the dll then they aren't blocked.  If you see 'active' in b2s then that should be good enough....someone said that pup wasn't active in b2s until they 'unblocked' the b2s dlls on their system.

NailBuster, my fault I was too excited and did not read through the whole thread. It was a WIN 7 issue for me and the 2K compatibility mode worked!!!

QQ Where is the optimal place to put the "topper" on a 2 screen? Right now I have positioned as an upper DMD on the top portion of the backglass.

Video of the awesomeness working in a 2-screen cab. What should I do better to immerse myself in the experience with the video? It would be good to have a reco'd set of standards for video source/stream hierarchy and positioning. 

For example will there be 2-screen video editions distributed so nothing is lost? I hope not I’d prefer to have some sort of system by which the Topper; DMD; and Back glass have prioritization and placement on a 2-screen system.
