you can absolutely run multiple versions of VP installed in the same folder is all that is needed.  Each version is just a different named exe in the installed directory.  I like installing to C:\Visual Pinball and under that dir I have Visual Pinball 9.2.exe, Visual Pinball 9.9.2.exe, etc.  Works fine since major different vp version use different Registry keys so they can have their own settings even.

So we could install vpx in the same dir of vp9? Substituting all dll vbs and other files vp9 will work as before?

Thanks for all the hard work guys. A great day indeed.

Merry Christmas.

You can't take it with you so you might as well waste it on pinball!

Thanks to all involved in the development.

I have played the MM and CV work in progress tables with this new version and the results are amazing.

Exceeded my expectations and more!

A big thanks for an amazing piece of software.

A big "Thank you!" to everyone involved with this release one way or another!

What a Christmas gift! If only you could have bundled it with "2 weeks off work" ;-)

Looks like a great leap in Visual Pinball.
Unfortunatlly for me, it is totally unplayable on my pc. I have set as low settings in graphics preferences as possible but I only reach about 17 fps and I have a flipper lag of about 1 sec. The table I'm truing to play is jpsalas AFM for vpx.
I have a decent laptop, i5 3 GHz and a gtx570 graphics card but i seems it is not enough. What are the pc specs needed to run this software?

are you sure its a gtx570? cause that should be good enough unless you run with 4xAA, dynamic AO or 4k resolution.

do you have recent drivers installed?

Thank you toxie,
I installed the latest graphics driver and WOW, what a difference.
It plays great now.

Hi guys, first off major thanks to all of the work by all involved for this massive undertaking.

I have installed the VPX standalone, copying all files from the zip file to my current install.

I loaded the VPX version of Sopranos

When I attempt to play the table, VP10 crashes with the following:

Visual Pinball 10.0.0 Has Stopped Working

Problem Eventname:  BEX

Fault Modulename:  Stackhash_0a9e

Any idea what would cause this?  I am thinking of just using the VPX installer to try a full install.

My setup:

Virtuapin cabinet

I-5 processor, 4 GB RAM

Windows 7 Home Premium

Geforce GTX 660

there is one known issue when playing tables with the new 'builtin DMD' where if you press play or F5 'too fast' after the table has just freshly been loaded, that causes this.

just wait for a tiny bit after the table has loaded, until we track down the issue.

Thanks Toxie.  I tried waiting a couple of minutes and still got the error.  I then executed the full install and that got me past the error.  Again, thanks for all the work involved with this!

weird.. also one must 'just' wait maybe a second, so seems like you found another issue there.. :/

I believe we are able to now.  I've put a couple up and unless something changed I'm just an ordinary fellow, no VIP
