I was able to get the DMD on the third screen where I want it and turn off the one on the play field.  I was also able to play in offline mode (as far as I can tell).  Getting closer.

The settings I can't locate are those to change the arrow key defaults for navigating through the PFX2 menu after exiting a table.  Where exactly are these settings?

Are you using a Ipac 2

No, at the moment, I'm still fine tuning with a keyboard.  My plunger kit should be arriving soon and will eventually connect all cab buttons to the board that comes with the plunger.  I don't think I'll need an ipac, as I don't plan to have flashers/leds (at least not to start) and the board that comes with the plunger should have enough inputs for my setup.

Try to use ESC for "Quit" and "Exit Emulator" in PinballX Settings... that should work.
You will just have to hit ESC after playing a table and will end up in PinballX and...

to leave PinballX you will have to press the same button. So, later on in your Cab you
will only need one button for leaving everything.

Jannek
(set your Quit button in VP to "Q" to avoid trouble between exiting routines of PinballX and VP)

That worked, thanks!

Since I think I need to have Steam launched in offline mode before PinballX launches, do I just put the Steam exe in my start folder so it launches on startup?  Or what if anything do I need to do so I don't need to manually launch Steam and then select that I want to run it in offline mode?

I´m sorry... I don´t know. Just give it a try. I don´t think that you necessary have to start steam before launching PinballX.

But you will test it.

Kind regards,

Jannek

Hey guys,

Is there a way to map my cab buttons to work in PBFX2?  It works great using the keyboard, but I'm now setting everything up to use on my cab and each software has it's own button mappings (VP, FP).  I read somewhere this can be done by choosing Custom Keyboard in the main menu, but I can't locate where this option is.  I've looked in the Steam settings and the PBFX2 options.

Can anyone help point me where/how to map my cab buttons for use with PBFX2?

Thanks!

Hey DKong,

I´ve done this in the Options-Menu of Pinball FX2. There you may change the key-mapping of PBFX2.

It´s where you also may choose which controler you´re using.

Kind regards,

Jannek

It looks like the only ways to map the keys is to use an encoder like an ipac or to use something like x360e or xpadder.  I am using the board that came with the Virtuapin plunger and it does not recognize keyboard presses.  It only recognizes joystick buttons.

I played around with xpadder for a bit, but it's not doing what I wanted for PFX2.  I may venture into this at another time, but it sure would be nice if PFX2 supported joystick presses natively, like it does keyboard presses.

X360ce.com

There is even a profile for FX2 available to download through its config menu. Gives you analog nudge and plunger as well as button support.

Anyone know of a way to have Pinballx stop at the hotseat menu screen when loading a table instead of directly launching it?

My son loves these tables and it's a bit of a pain to try and play with him as it is now.

Having to exit out and mess around with a mouse on my cabinet glass

just to change the number of players... Not too fun.

I know Nukelauncher has this capability, but I could never get it to work properly.

The new cab support built into both FX2 and Pinballx works flawlessly otherwise, so I would rather not beat my head

over NukeFX anymore.

Thanks!

Anyone know the command line table name for the basic football table? tried football and football_zen already. Just loads to the main pinball fx2 table selection screen.

Hey mviars,

just look into your Steam Folder -> CommonApps -> PinballFX2 ->... I´m a little bit uncertain about the folder path, but anywhere at this place you will find a sub-folder where all of the tables are stored. The correct name for the command line is identical to the table name you will find there.

Kind regards,

Jannek

Yeah I knew about that and have tried to find which one to use but nothing is working.

here are the choices;

Football.pxp

Football_Arsenal.pxp

Football_Barcelona.pxp

Football_Juventus.pxp

Football_Liverpool.pxp

Football_Milan.pxp

Football_RealMadrid.pxp

Football_Roma.pxp

I do not have any of the tables but Zen gives you a free one. You would think it would be Football.pxp then renamed Football in Pinballx config but all that does is brings me to the main table selection screen.

I can run the table fron there with a mouse.

Have have tried other sugestions like Football_Zen

Yeah thanks. I have already looked all that over and just did again. I have tried all the tablenames  that they have theirs working on but it just doesnt work for me. All other table are fine. All I can think of is that since I do not have all (or even some) of the football tables that it doesnt load the free one. I guess I could just remove it altogether as I really do not need the table anyways. I just hate something beating me.

I know exactly what you mean! :-)

So, in your case the only possibility would be "Football". But I think that it has something to do with this free gift.
Maybe the command for "Football" is not registered at any specific location if you haven't bought it...

I'm sorry, but I have no clue how to help.
