I love these - non pinball - alternatives for my cab. Excellent game. Thanks!

Has anyone built a cab just for this style game, and what is the minimum specs for that pc? I'm thinking of building a cab for one, but was trying to get the smallest x86 I could so the cab could be ultra slim. Like an intel NUC, since I don't think this would use that much gpu?

There are a few cab builds on youtube for Ice Cold beer Style Games. Most famous/findable one is the Ice Cold Kong machine.

A guy here in Australia is in the process of building a proper physical functioning machine from scratch as they never made it to our shores.

I like that you re-themed the defender art to suit your needs....I did the same:

console.jpg

The right side of my cabinet art has the ms pacman border around it and the left side has PacMan's blue border, also the marquee has the same and they line up to connect in some spots....like this...

Great table, there is one in an arcade within driving distance of me that I like to play so finding this adaptation for VP was really exciting.  Is there a way to change the physics of the table so that the ball doesn't continuously  "hop" up and down on the rod during game play?

People running ICB, what are your computer specs? I'm looking at making a ICB cab, but want to use an intel compute stick. They run dual and quad core intel atom or m3 cpu's and 2-4gb ram.

Hi northvibe,

since the table is completely scripted, You can use a very basic PC in my opinion. I have not tried a stick PC yet, though.

Good luck with Your build.

Yeah, I'm wondering this as well.  I'm running it on a brand new HP Omen laptop with an Intel i7 and Nvidia GPU.  Seems to run great, but I'd like to know which version to of VP to run these games with and the optimal settings to prevent the ball from bouncing on the rod when idle.  From the HP Omen, I'll output to a 40" Samsung LED in portrait mode via HDMI and control it with an X-Arcade Tankstick.  this is a dedicated setup for Ice Cold Beer and Zeke's Peak.

Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason,

it has been quite a while since I last played the table...

I will check the latest VP9 versions. Do You have any nudging hardware installed?

Michael

Hi Jason,

now that I re-checked the table, I noticed the movement too. Fortunately it is quite easy to remove the odd movement. Go to Sub Ball_Timer and change line 990 to this

GameBall.y = MaxY

The "- 1" is not necessary and You have a stable ball from now on.

Regards

Michael

Hi Michael,

I really appreciate your response.  I'm not as sharp with editing functions of VP as I probably should be.  Could you tell me exactly where to go within VP and how to make these changes?

Thanks,
Jason

Hi,

no problem. I can upload a quick update.

If You want to make the change Yourself, open the script with the "Script" button on the left hand menu. Then scroll down to line 990 (in version 1.4). This line should read

GameBall.y = MaxY - 1

Change that line to

GameBall.y = MaxY

Save the table. Done.

Regards

Michael
