Hello! Nice pre alpha release, but I have lag on flippers (desktop mode). See my signature for my specifiactions.

Thanks for the nice result.

For those with flipper/input lag, have you tried the infamous max prerendered frames = 1 setting that's posted so much for TPA and FX2?  I haven't needed to do it but have seen it posted many times.  http://steamcommunit...27315349070543/

Thank you.

I can confirm that doing as in the post AND removing vertical sync helps on the issue.

But when changing the settings in Unity3D I have issues where the table starts up and is all black and I have to delete options.ui.puo to get the program to work again.

I noticed that enabling the vsync helps a lot that the ball is running smooth. Without vsync the ball is jerking around. With pixel lights slider set to about the middle and turning off the ball reflections I get an almost smooth TAF gameplay.

Does anybody know if more RAM helps? I use Win7 64bit with 4 GB RAM (never needed more).

Does a new graphic card driver help? I'm still using 306.95 or such. I do not like updating if it is not fully necessary as both VP and FP is working fine at the moment.

And it would really be nice if the settings for the pf and bb size could be saved!

you need no more ram, most used us GPU, a high end gtx card helps for more fps.

eduard, have you set up PinMAME properly?. Have you done this step?, "The first step is to replace your current vpinmame.dll with the one present at the folder root, then launch the Setup.exe of VPinMame and install it.". If you have, you might have to try pressing the windows key (to get out of Unit3D) and clicking ok in PinMAME. Then it should be o

Thanks, its working now.

Is the physic different between dr dude and taf ? On dr dude the ball rolls over the flipper and on taf its just sticking to it. Or is it just because of performance ?

There is one thing I noticed while playing: I think the ball is too fast when hitting with the flippers. It's that fast that you even can not see it. On a real pinball the ball could always be seen. I think this is very important because if you can not see where the ball is it's hard to play the game right.

I have seen that many times, that the ball was moving so fast that I did not see the ball on a real pinball, Especially on T2 on hard :-)

But the ball is literally disappearing! It should be visible when moving fast, too. ;)

True, I have never seen "magic" on a real pinball machine :-) Does it help/worsen with Ball Trail effect?

ball trail effect slows emulation down so I disabled it!

Just an update for Christmas here - we have collected a total of $1920.43 in donations since January 2013.  I'm sure we were hoping for two Unity licenses - one for Louizou and one for Billbox.

I thank you, appreciate your support for this - we have enough now for one full license + a little more.

Feel free to continue to donate to [email protected] - however, as my time has become more limited I would prefer if the donation management was handled by Louizou in the future.

Hi,

I really want to test this since I followed it since the first post. I also donated, so ofcorse im very exited to try it. Ive tried some hours by myself, but maybe its my English knowledge that make the installation impossible. =(

I dont understand the first thing; "replace your current vpinmame.dll with the present in the folder root".

I see the vpinmame.dll in my Unit3d folder, but I dont know what do with it since I dont Think I have Another vpinmame file. Maybe the installation isent for people that start the installation from scratch? Please help me and explain what im supposed to do! =)

I dont also know where im supposed to install vpinmame_23.zip.

EDIT: Where do I put the rom files for each table? I dont know why you dont make the installation alot more easy to understand. Well, its an Alfa, but It would take like 1 to 10 more minutes to explain in text so even a ten year old could understand. :)

EDIT 2: Got it to work now. Only tried Family Addams for one minute. But it was awsome!!! The ball was stunning compared to all other emulators and graphic was also great. I got some lag, so I will try to fix it. I Think I read some things that could work in this thread.

EDIT 3: The second time i started the emulator the lag was gone. I got the windows manu at the bottom at the screen. Dont know if it had anything to do with it, but it was really great playing. I have real pinballs at home and I must say I like the ball weight. I cant say much about the psysics, but it felt alot more natural than maybe anything ive tried. The only bad thing is that the ball dont baunce on the flippers like in real Life. Now its very easy to slow the game down. But like ive said Before, love this!

Good work guys! Words cant discribe how thankful I am!

Ty!

appologize for my english:

just donated 100$ to [email protected] via pay pal, it's the second donation to support this great project.

I hope there will be enough donations for 2 full licenses, this is at least the minimum I would expect to honour the great work of Louizou and BilboX

As I already wrote, for me it's more than pre-alpha, if you look at the pure "play" side.

I can imagine that' there's lot more work to do for table building, but this realese is already "fun to play" - in my opinion.

So, please, how's using the project - donate ! :-)

I guess thinking about a kickstarter or crowdhoster funding project will put to much pressure into the development ?

After launching Unit3D Pinball.exe and selecting table I get a black screen and crash to desktop after 2-3 seconds... I tried all three tables with same result. No matter do I launch in window mode or full screen...

Thanks Mike.  I think paypal will fit our needs better than kickstarter - but Louizou and Billbox might consider that.  They are in it for the right reasons - not to make millions of dollars, but to provide a decent pinball sim with the available tools.

Louizou, Billbox,

I just wanted to say that I don't often put my faith in people. And I was a donor for the license way back when because i loved the idea that you put forward.

There was a time that it seemed like this had almost disappeared but it's come to fruition so nicely and you had gotten some needed help later.

Thank you both for following through.  Even compared to the initial proof of concept, this simply blows me away..

Works surprisingly well on my outdated system. Except for the audio levels. The game sounds are at a much lower volume than the table sound effects, like the flipper sounds. I don't see anything in vpinmame to raise the sound volume.
