hey Bonoscot - stretching has no effect since you are not actually changing the properties of the DMD. I've just play a quick game of Goonies (Cab edition) and JAWS (Ultimate phy2.6) and the DMD works fine for me. I didn't have to change or modify anything. Just make sure your DMD is 128x32 and it should be good to go.

Also just noticed that the image quality in FutureDMD is much greater than the DMD in FP. In JAWS you can make out much more detail in the FutureDMD than the FP one.

Hello,

I'm loading between tables.

As mentionned in my previous post, i use hyperpin and hyperlaunch.

Please find my order in hplaunch.ahk

IfExist %emupath%\FutureDMD.exe
               Run, "%emupath%\FutureDMD.exe" table="%tableName%",%emuPath%,hide UseErrorLevel

I tried at the begining lines in pdf, but had pb with" close = 1 sentence, so i close process manually in CloseFP.

Regards.

I'm a little rusty with AHK. so if anyone has suggestions please chime in.

The exact working line from my AHK:

Run, "%emuPath%\FutureDMD.exe" close=1 table="%tableName%",,hide UseErrorLevel

If you aren't using the close=1 tag try removing the "%emuPath%" after the table part as well so it reads:

Run, "%emuPath%\FutureDMD.exe" table="%tableName%",,hide UseErrorLevel

Can you explain what is happening when you use the close=1 tag?

Hello Gauntletlover,

I just tried your AHK line's and I'm use windows 7 64 bits since today.

It's OK for opening and close Futurdmd but futurdmd.ini isn't use to change dmd color.

If i Change manually in default setting section DMD default color change.

Regards.

I'm at work so I can't test but if you want to try a couple things to troubleshoot. Please confirm.

-You are you using FutureDMD version 1.7

-Your table is ASTARWAR.fpt in your future pinball/tables directory

Please try removing the spaces:

[ASTARWAR]
red=0
green=110
blue=200

If the table is astarwar.fpt and not ASTARWAR.fpt please change the case as well

[astarwar]
red=0
green=110
blue=200

Lastly, Please test setup another table as well and see if it works?

Let me know if anything changes.

Hello,

i confirm i use 1.7 version.

Table name is correct and it's only an example, i setup 15 tables.

I tried to delete space before color number but nothing change.

When i used previous version 1.5 with the same setup it's OK and color adjustment are correct.

Regards.

Thanks Olideg, for testing. I'm kind of baffled  :hmm: I can't seem to reproduce it here.  I just pulled the 1.5 code and compared the table color segment to 1.7 and I haven't made any changes to that routine. There must be some variable that I'm missing. If anyone else is having this issue please let me know.  I will fix it as soon as I can find it.

edit:

Just thought of this and yes if it works it is kind of hacky but may fix you up in the meantime.

After you load the dmd from your ahk try this additional part:

sleep 1000

Run, "%emuPath%\FutureDMD_Relay.exe" table="%tableName%",,hide UseErrorLevel

I put the sleep to ensure futureDMD has time to open (may not need it) and the second line will re-send it the table name through the relay.

Let me know if this works if you try it.

Color changing works fine here (at least in the table selection screen).

Thanks Gauntletlover,

With futur dmd relay it works.

I think sometihing disapear in futurdmd regarding colour adjustment.

I don't try this option before because i'm not using always on futur dmd option.

Regards

Fixed it up Olideg with version 1.7b.  Once you update you can remove the relay hack from the above post. Thank you for making me aware of the bug.

Thanks Gauntletlover,

It works perfectly with 1.7b release.

Great job. I'm very enjoying to play future Pinball with your FuturDMD plugin in full screen.

I ever test plugin with pinballx, and find that the DMD position screen change when i navigate with the wheel. Perhaps link to different font used to diplay table name with randomize type.

My configuration is a pincab with 3 screens, windows 7 64bit AMD K6 5800k with 4Go memory and RADEON 7800HD 2Go

Thanks for your job

Regards.

Is it possible to change the DMD colors without using a front end? I just built a cab and I'm running Future DMD on the third monitor. Everything works perfectly, but I don't know how to change the colors. Sorry for the noob question, but I'm a noob;)

And I want to send a big thank you for creating this wonderful program. It makes a Vpin cab look real deal, and we absolutely love it here! So again, thank you!

Right now I'm just manually starting FutureDMD, then going through the FP table launcher. Tables and Future DMD work perfectly. I wanted to install PinballX, but on his website he said he's having some slight problems so I wanted to wait until he irons everything out before I install it.

Really it's not a big deal, just curious as to how you do it. But right now I'm really in the learning phase of all this. The Future DMD looks awesome btw! It really makes the pin look genuine. The people that have looked at it in person can't believe it.

Here's a video of it running on an I7 - 3.4ghz, with twin Nvidia GTX 660's. Really happy with how everything looks. Every screen is 1080p (minus the dmd) running at 60fps with all video settings maxed out:)

I followed the directions precisely for Hyperpin startup of this.  I edited and compiled the script for FPlaunch.  The error I get is

"Make sure your paths contain a backslash at the end"

*** In fact I just discovered that if I merely recompile the existing script without even editing it, I get the same error and the new executable is unusable.

I'm using Future DMD 1.7b and my ledwiz no longer works. This has something to do with the Opengl32.dll. I change the dll back to the ledwiz one and Ledwiz works but I get no futuredmd. Somehow there is a conflict. Can you help.

Did you have the same problem with 1.7? Mine is working with that version (table colors are broken though.)

FutureDMD is working well for all tables I have tested.

My only issue now is that the DMD display is very dim.  The background has an active lit dot pattern and then any animated display is almost too dim to see clearly within the background of dots.  Color settings are at default.

Any sugesstions?

Hey DrEvil.

I'm not sure I understand what is happening. What I think I'm reading is that the image behind it shows through but that shouldn't happen. Are you able to post a screenshot or a video? You can also change the default color to a brighter color if that will help using the ini file.

DMD on, no game loadedAttached File  FutureDMD always on.jpg   276.25KB   14 downloads

LOTR, FP, BAM, FutureDMDAttached File  LOTR FP with FutureDMD.jpg   304.76KB   13 downloads

LOTR in VPAttached File  LOTR VP.jpg   331.17KB   12 downloads

To clarify:  I have a 3 screen cab, the DMD is displayed using an LCD (screen 3).  Usually, a DMD image has a black background with bright graphics and numbers and letters displayed like a usual DMD.

Using Future DMD, the entire DMD display is very dim and faint.  Also, even when the DMD is not being used, there is a dot matrix pattern being displayed on LCD #3.  I run Future DMD at startup.  (Also, note my VP tables have very normal DMDs, very bright and lifelike, so it is not a monitor issue.)

When you combine these two issues (the background not being black, and the actual DMD images for a table being quite dim) the DMD experience is not that great.  All color combos lead to the same washed out intensity and dimness.
