Looking really really good now. I see a Circe/FT idea in there too with the twisty spinner orbit - always gratifying to come up with something lateral that you can prove works on a real game, that others then use (since it's going to get copied to death anyway).

That's a nice pic t-800, but I thought you were going to post a WIP of your pin in progress? :)

Baby steps... :)

Is that her name? Eheh

All kidding aside after a minimal 5 minutes of ogling I did notice the pin pic and it is something to see. Congrats on your efforts, what you and Roger are accomplishing with the RealPin concept is outstanding.

Couple of questions for all those cab owners out there that use the LED-Wiz:

1.  Where do you find/order cheap relays from?

2.  What relay would you spec to send the strongest signal from the LED-Wiz to a 90's style Williams flipper coil?

3.  Will the EOS switch on the flipper assembly automatically just "work" with the LED-Wiz to keep the coil in a lower power state while maintaining the flipper up position?

4.  Best place to find cheap 5 volt leds?

5.  Do you wire in a fuse on each led output to keep the Led-Wiz from frying?  Guessing a .3-.4 amp fuse?

6.  What power supply are you using and what power outputs does it have - 5, 12, 24, even 50?

This electronic stuff is just a bit over my head but I'm trying to struggle through it...

Thanks in advance for all those that respond!

Holy hell man! I did not know you were doing this!! That is so fricking awesome. Good luck. The table is so fun to play, but be prepared to have to make (major) adjustments due to real iife physics and lack of space (as I'm sure others have said). What you've got so far looks great.

Based on tracking you should have the upper Playfield on your front porch ;) See how it looks and we can get cracking on the main Playfield.

Got the upper playfield CNC from Mameman yesterday....  Wow.  Exceptional stuff - great finish, clean edges, no chipping, smooth, flat, everything I need for a quality playfield...  Can't wait for the main playfield now!

You don't want cheap relays....or any relays for that matter.

I haven't forgotten about our discussion, just waiting on some parts....:)

What voltages are you planning on running? 5v obviously for the lighting but are you going with 43v or 50v??

Look what showed up yesterday!!!  Playfield looks incredible.  Thanks Mameman - you turned my project from being a "mheh" build to "holy $#@!%" this is gonna look professional.

Time to sand the insides of the insert holes, paint it white, sand the inserts, press 'em in, and apply the playfield art...  Can't wait!

Ooh, that's interesting. So the game has a single pop bumper added to the right-hand side now? Is that part of the 'escape' lane?

(I did nick the idea BTW, and killed two birds with one stone by combining it with a dedicated ball lock area on one of my layouts. Why not, if the idea works? :) )

Yeah, if you check out post #38 you'll see the plastic has a sharpie line on it where I'm going to remove material to make room for a pop bumper.  The demo I tried had some really cool/fun ball action near the outlane with the pop bumper there.  Won't know how well it really works until I get everything up and flipping, but kinda liked the idea - - I'm always nudging like crazy when the ball gets near the outlanes, and thought, what the hell, let's put some POWER in the there (it will either really help you or send that ball twice as fast down the to the drain.... we'll see).  If it doesn't work out so well it will be easily replaced by some simple posts with rubber around them.  I stated earlier that the previous locations of the pop bumpers just didn't work well from a durability perspective - balls bouncing off hard metal ball guides didn't seem like a good idea.  Instead I've created a special "Athena" skill shot that will drop down from the top.  It will also be magnetically controlled as a "hurry up" shot.  the ball will then divert over to the upper right corner of the playfield and then get kicked up onto the upper ramp for a run at the upper playfield....

Sooo... related to my build thread and getting a backglass made, I was looking back at my original backglass for this table and decided I hated it.  Was super stagnant and boring IMO.  Decided to do something more detailed with higher energy and more power.  It's just a sketch now but will soon be inked and colored....   like this post if you think this new one (when finished) will be better than the old!!

I like the first one(ie the sketching). There's all sorts of stuff going on with that picture.

You are really talented. I wish I could draw just half as well as you.

Once you're finished with the new image, it'll be time to update the B2S backglass for the VP table :P

What makes the sketch backglass so much better isn't just that there's more action, but that it's all directed at the player - you have their attention, and it automatically draws you into the game by feeling personally involved. The other one is perfectly good art, but the figures' attitude towards you is more like 'eh, whatever' - the one checking his sword out looks like he can't even be bothered to give you the time of day.
