I do totally agree rofl.gif

I promise you, if we are playing Future Pinball tables with real ROMs through your software, we will all chip in and buy you a Pinball Wizard.

Personally, I think we could build you something way cooler than that.

Do I understand this correctly?

The 1500$ is for a licence to distribute the unity engine with the software that louizou creates. The engine consists of dll files that are called from the main program.
When you install that program you will have the .dll files installed on your computer and are available then for other programs (or a fork)?
Is this scenario possible?

Not quite TedB -
The $1500 is to enable Unity3D to utilize any external DLL file on your computer.
The DLL we are working with is vpinmame.dll, which is the same on everyone has access to with no changes to it. - so you can already use the DLL however you like on your computer without Unity 3D.

The programming Louizou is doing, is creating a framework for Unity3D to use VPinMAME.DLL to play pinball games, with imported tables from Future Pinball and different table scripts to interact with Unity3D.
So there really isn't any reason to 'fork', modify, hack, reverse compile, or screw with anything when he's done, except maybe fixing physics a little and graphics.

Without the license, external DLLs of any kind are blocked/prevented from being used with Unity3D.

I totally misunderstood the initial question (when destruk said "fork", I thought he meant "branch"), but my misunderstanding is still a good question. Once Louizou finishes the initial application, can others use his exe's/DLL's and write their own code to enhance the parts that don't touch VPinMame with the free version of Unity 3D? I believe Louizou mentioned that he might make the code open source. I am familiar with C# and would like to help. The more coders the better.

Sorry for asking but I am going stir crazy. I broke my wrist pretty badly on Friday. Have a metal plate in it and they also did a carpal tunnel release. Worst part is that my ledwiz is in and I can't do any work on it...

Also a proton pack only takes a few weeks after you have all the parts. I even had a broken wrist when I was working on that project.

Louizou kind of pointed it with a little bit of irony but this thread is really here to keep track of his progress and all things related to the unity project.
Lately it has been popping up with all kind of unrelated stuff which I think should be discussed elsewhere.
Just my opinion but let's keep this thread to the unity project as intended.

I hope your progress isn't slowed down by some of the replies in this topic. Most of us really do believe in the project and you have most of our back in that you don't want to release the source code right now or maybe never will. Those that are pushing about the source code to be available should keep in their mind that this may affect your feelings towards the community and we really do need you to get a modern emulator. So people please stop pushing about this source code matter and look forward to that what louizou does offer us. Only then progress can and will be made. smile.gif

Louizou,

So, we've cleared the path, the thread is back on track for all the progress updates. How's things going? I thought I heard someone else asking, too, but I didnt see any replies. I hope your ghostbuster pack is finished, and work on the project continues? I sincerely hope you are having loads of success with your current endeavors, and look forward to some news.

Peace,
Lynny

P.S. Just remember when playing with your pack...never, ever cross the streams! smile.gif
Peace,
Lynny

I'm guessing it has something to do with Charles Bronson playing pinball...I have always suspected that he was an avid pinhead..a closet pinhead, if you will, but I could never prove it..
Maybe Louizou has found the proof, and wishes to share it with us all...

Or..maybe..hidden somewhere in the film clip is a video showing the latest and greatest progress he's been making!?

Alas...we can't see it.. sad.gif

I can't see the video but it's the final duel between Charles Bronson and Henry Fonda in "Once upon a time in the west". Great movie and knowing this scene completely and thoroughly as it's one of my favorite movies, I can surmise absolutely frig-all as to what he means LOL

i would like it , syco , but i don't even see the checkered flag.

The project is in a "desert" state at the moment as i have other things that occupies me.

The duel was just dedicated to linny, that kind of guy i can't stand....
