just take your time, have fun. And even if the first release is christmas 2015 or 2016, then it will still be an awesome futureproof pinball simulator.

In the meantime, I managed to make a new video, just to show skeptical we still are working ;).

This video shows some new options coming in the next release:

- Built in table launcher
- Per table options, like ambiant light color, difficulty slider, DMD brgihtness
- News physics options like ball speed limitation, ball angular drag (spin tuner), gravity, timescale, etc...

This video also includes a quick game of Metallica Pro, with the electric chair multiball.

Hope you like it.

Thanks for the video!

The visuals are just breathtaking - even though I am not a fan of some of the optional stuff like ball trails - but thankfully these are adjustable :-)

Love some of the physics stuff (like the bobbing head or the magnet that grabs two balls in realistically looking fashion).

What still "bothers" me is the reflection quality of the world on the ball - it just stands out as pixelated immediately - any way to increase the resolution on that?

Also it seems like the ball likes to sit on stuff (most notably the return lane guides - see ~5:36 (left outlane) and 5:42 (right outlane))

Of course these are just observations from the video, I might be wrong and it can all be tweaked (certainly looks like there are a LOT of options) but the physics still look wrong to me a lot of the time.

Anyways, I'm really really looking forward to the first version where it will be easier to work on tables of our own - can't wait to play around with it!

- The reflections quality (front glass, playfield or balls) is already configurable.

- The return lane guides "bug" you mention is only a "too easy" difficulty setting: rubbers are too close. At the easiest setting, the ball can't pass in the return lanes...

BilboX, just took a look at the latest video.  Lighting looks really good (and wow, the amount of customization should give us tweekers things to adjust to our liking for eons) and the physics look to be coming along nicely.

With new jobs and real-world obligations, take your time and produce the app YOU want to give to the world when you feel it's ready.  We'll all be out here rooting you on.

Happy holidays to the French team behind Unit3d!

Hey BolboX,

really big thank you and your team to bring virtal pinball forward. The video looks amazing. A technical question, is the nvidia 750ti enough graphical hardware to enjoy the lightshow?

Thanks so much

and merry christmas your team and your family.

Argh it always crashes on me. Had it running when you released last Feb, but it just won't work anymore???
Latest unified vpinmame should work, right?
Where do I have to delete the registry to make a fresh install?

Curious on full screen performance. 60+ fps. Were you able to optimize further? What cpu/gpu are you using?

until he releases a new version, you will need to use their provided pinmame.dll, it will crash with other pinmames unfortunately

Ok thanks for that info. Can I use both simultaneously?
I am separated from my cab for a few days anyway (thank you x-mas family traveling ), so what the heck.

Thank you everybody.

There some minor optimization of the shaders, but not much.

I am using a Geforce 680 GTX.

Not I am afraid this is not possible. Incoming release will be compatible with VPM 2.6, so there should be no problem anymore...

OK thanks for the vpinmame info, I'll wait.
Looks really great. Will the be a profile to save all those settings per table? If someone (the author) did a great job tuning the visuals it would be great if I see this first, despite the settings I did for another table. Or will everything render related be a global setting?
