Do you have the zonealarm with extra features that causes this perhaps....not just firewall but an extra protection?

It's only firewall. And even if I stop ZA I got the same VP9 error. I don't understand, as it was working well one week ago ?

And if you start VP9 without pinemhi leaderboard ?
Do you also get the same problem....

No problem when launching VP9 alone.

What is new is the "return to editor" menu appearing when pressing ESC in VP9 with PinemHi, and "no game played" with some games, Silverball mania for example

I tried the 5 minutes mode : no error when VP9 is stopped by PinemHi after 5 min, but error if I press ESC to quit before the 5 min

Does Zone Alarm have an Exemptions List that you can put Visual Pinball and the Pinemhi .exes on so that ZA ignores them?

I don't know if this matters, but is Visual Pinball installed on your system or are you using the .exe-only download?

Are you sure you've set a score?
Thought i fixed it....
Maybe the score was exact the same as the one before?
It's possible that it would give that message when it's exactly the same

Now , it's good !! smile.gif

I tried to give rights to Pinemhi & VP, and even uninstalled ZA, but problems remain.

VP9 is installed. Only VP8 is a standalone exe but I don't use it

Any idea except UAC or ZA that can cause VP9 to crash with Pinemhi ? (and silverball mania is always giving "no game played" message)

Maybe re-dowload the version 1.5... and retest the tables with a problem , I had a problem with High Speed maybe internet or something but now it's good ....

Sa marchais avant, il n'y a pas de raison pour que sa ne marche plus, vérifie tous , sa me la déja fais quelques fois , j'ai réinstallé la dernière version dans mon dossier pinemhi et après sa marchais.

ced .... it didn't take you long to get 2nd place ..... although xio cant play some atm.

and I still cant crack 300 ...... I start to see some 1st place disappear more often now facepalm.gif

eventually I will switch to fs, when I get time to set it up, but for now you keep me busy with your scoring.

@Xio. I was having the same problem that you've had -- I'd play a game and hit escape and then the "no game played" message would appear.

What you can try is to go into your VPinMame folder and run the vpinmame setup program. In the "setup paths" tab, make sure the nvram path is the path in the visual pinball folder, and not the nvram path in the VPinMame folder (they both have nvram subfolders).

Maybe this will work for you.

On my XP system, all of the .exes for PINemHi are listed under Right-Click > Properties as being Blocked by XP because "they came from another computer" and "may cause harm" for not being certified I suppose, so would Unblocking each of the .exes make a difference?

I went ahead and unblocked them under Properties, but I'm still having trouble. It's hit and miss with my older system, or with the dial-up connection.

Is the server solid?

I don't have any nvram subfolder in my VP folder ? nvram folder is only in VPinmame folder (and Pinemhi find it as I can submit scores, on most tables)

Is it XP related ? On my system (Win7) it does not seem to be blocked or anything

I just tried to dl the full 1.5 version and replaced all files, but id did not change anything, I pressed ESC after my Xfiles game, the return to editor still come, then the program exit, and I get a message saying that VP has stopped working

I just re-downloaded & reinstalled everything in a different folder : VP912 (full install), Vpinmame, Pinemhi, but it's still crashing (UAC is off & ZA still uninstalled)

Here's the error details, I don't understand what this is about but maybe someone will :

I found something : if I use the old pinemhi version (quite old, the ini files were not splitted), it does not crash !

Hi xio,

I suspect it has something to do with exiting VP9 so I made a slight adjustment to the ahk part.
Could you test it out.
use the 1.5 version and after that extract the zip to the folder , overwriting one file.

Let's see if this does the trick.....

Let me know if this helped in anyway....
