No pressure Louizou, keep up the good work and keep the updates comming at your own pace.
Don't let the pressure make this project a burden for you, this is a hobby and you need to enjoy your work on it.
So relax and have a good time doing it. I think this is how you will get the best result (better than working under too much pressure).

Now stop wasting your time on the forum and get on it!!! blum.gif blum.gif

Do I understand this correctly?

The 1500$ is for a licence to distribute the unity engine with the software that louizou creates. The engine consists of dll files that are called from the main program.
When you install that program you will have the .dll files installed on your computer and are available then for other programs (or a fork)?
Is this scenario possible?

Not quite TedB -
The $1500 is to enable Unity3D to utilize any external DLL file on your computer.
The DLL we are working with is vpinmame.dll, which is the same on everyone has access to with no changes to it. - so you can already use the DLL however you like on your computer without Unity 3D.

The programming Louizou is doing, is creating a framework for Unity3D to use VPinMAME.DLL to play pinball games, with imported tables from Future Pinball and different table scripts to interact with Unity3D.
So there really isn't any reason to 'fork', modify, hack, reverse compile, or screw with anything when he's done, except maybe fixing physics a little and graphics.

Without the license, external DLLs of any kind are blocked/prevented from being used with Unity3D.

Thank you for explaining Destruk. So it is the other way around and the license is needed to access external dll files and Louizou is building the software interface.

I am blown away by how quickly this forum came together with the funds for this project. It was really inspiring to see. otvclap.gif otvclap.gif . I was waiting to get paid (yesterday), so i could go out and get some wood and hardware for my 1st cabinet build, and then my plan was to donate 20 bucks.....So can I still donate to this project as maybe a "rainy day" fund?

I leave that decision entirely up to Louizou. If Louizou wants donations to continue to work on this project, then feel free to donate - but we have the funding for the DLL to make it possible now, so it's not my decision on whether to accept more money than needed, it is his. smile.gif

As CPSnine says , i must just leave this forum and go back to work !!

Ok, i have coffee , tobacco .... I'm ready wink.gif

Just looked back at the script example on page 17, looks pretty simple to me.
I have a few tables i could get working in next to no time, Simpsons data east and Star Wars Data east for starters, and maybe Scared stiff.

How are you going to release a preview version?
Are you going to have a closed beta for a select few to help iron out any bugs?
I know I would love to help out if I can.

Or are you going to release a demo with a working table?
If so i could let you have Simpsons Data east.

GLXB

Also I know its a way off, but just to point out converting tables to this would make them a MOD so permission would need to be sought. Although it would be fairly easy to supply just the script and let others mod there own.

It's been a while since I've been here as I've been playing a lot of Pinball Arcade, started my own pinball blog (pretty localized to my city for now but we'll see where it goes, not sure if i can post a sig link to it). Came back, saw new posts and as always got excited and a bit sad.

I was really hoping to have the opportunity to donate more even though things are tight around here, but I'm happy to see such a great community involvement in this project and such dedication by the lead programmer/designer, Louizou.

This is a very exciting developpment for the VPers everywhere.

If you are really wanting to donate - I'm sure vpforums.org could use donations, as well as the other pinball sites like Hyperpin, Pinball Nirvana, and others... wink.gif

Silver supporter is a subscription which gets paid for each year automatically, so I guess it is impossible since than you're subscribing someone else for a membership. I signed up as a silver supporter exactly because of this yearly payment, on the long term I'll have donated more than gold supporters smile.gif

Noah said you can do this if you like - just add a note on the paypal screen for who it is for.

louizou, you may have already answered this and if so I am sorry, but what os are you running? hoping windows 7 64 bit. Would be cool to be able to use a modern os and have support for a large amount of ram. Once this is complete (yes i am saying you will get it done and working 100%. i have faith.) and tables begin being made for it I could see moving to windows 7 if it works in that os. Will still have to keep visual pinball around for a bit though so maybe not for a while.

Louizou, I know that you stated that nudging can be done with keys, but I'm a little confused if analog nudging can be done. I think using the PBW for nudging on a cabinet is what makes my cabinet so cool and realistic. I think it could be better and maybe with this new system it might be. Thanks for all the work you are putting in, this has to be one of the coolest things ever in the virtual pinball arena.
