I think we need a viable Real DMD image or video in color to really test it.  There also seems to be a dedicated "Color Real DMD" folder that has been created.  I'm hoping to get a little free time to play with it today.  Having said that, my existing RealDMD images have stopped displaying and I now only get the PinballX logo.   I'm sure it will sort out shortly.

Noah has brought to my attention he ships out a USB cable as well. I did not realise this (I probably should read the product page of my own product! haha)

Any way any EU orders that requite this cable let me know and I will send one out shortly. Just waiting for a reply from Noah to tell me which ones he uses and I will order a big batch.

All future orders will include the USB cable

Sorry about that!

A long molex cable would be even more useful I suppose.

Noah offered to build molex cables to a required length for a fair price if I recall. I mistakenly PM'd here rather than email so I didn't get a chance to get one in on my order. One was not included with the order, just the USB.

Russ,

This is what Noah said when I asked the question way back when.  I didn't measure mine, but that seems about right. I know I had plenty to get fro my coin door up into the head.

I have 10ft here in the shop that I'll be packing with these displays.

I went with 10 footers to cover pretty much every possible configuration. With our units, we use all 10', with the folding backbox.

I want to see a video of someone who has color working with pinballx, I can't get that to work yet.

I haven't had any time to make a video, tour season has been taking up 120% of my time.

But here's how I got PinballX to use the color settings I created for each rom.

In PinballX settings:

Hide Pinmame: NO

Use PinMAME in Front End: YES

After I set those a new option appeared in Game List Manager next to Hide Backglass for the Rom.

Choose the same Rom you use for the table in VP (Script / Gamename)

And it works like a charm in PBX.

Pretty sure that's all there was to it...

Glad you got it sorted!

Sometimes I'll find myself just flipping through the tables in PBX

longer than I actually play anything just to check out all the purdy colors, hahaha!

My PC is at the front of the cab, with the ports facing the coin door.  I figured I needed 6 foot of cable, so I asked the question.  10' left me a lot of surplus, but made it easy to use the original wire loops on the sides of the cabinet.  My cab began its life as an F-14 and I kept the original wire clips, since they still held the original harness when I got the cab.

As of the PinballX logo, which I made back in the days, I just did in B&W so that's maybe why you see it as only white.

Try my custom clip and see if it works, replace the default

yaay! mine arrived today and works like a charm, apart from initial driver installation issues for testing on windows10.

i am really impressed by the build and image quality! very good job to noah and to russ for assembly :)

stern should put those into their machines, instead of the low quality, not perfectly aligned red ones...

best regards!

Regarding windows 10 I am in the process of getting a signed USB driver and for it to be added to the windows driver store. Basically means when you plug in the pinDMD3 windows 7/8/10 will just go off and download/install all by it self without problems :)

This is quite a long process with downloading various windows drivers kits and paying for the licence and all sorts but i hope to have it done in the next few months.

Will definitely make installation easier :)

Hi everybody,

coming back to PinballX: The Game Manager has an option to choose a RealDMD video file for each table. But whatever I chose, nothing happens on the PinDMD3. Except for the white PinballX animation.

Is there a way to put these videos on the DMD? Even in B/W?

Cheers

Timo

P.S.: That's a beautiful piece of hardware, Russ! It really lights up my life and my room :-) Thank you!!!  :otvclap:
