I am also eagerly awaiting the next release, I want to play so bad but whatever bug makes it so the ball goes too fast is keeping me from playing.

Did you guys ever get your unity license?

I'll be donating for the next release so you guys can buy more energy drinks and get done faster!

:). I hope you won't be disappointed. And there is a new "ball speed" limit that tale scripter can set to overcome quickly this problem...

can't wait!! I still remember the first time I played scared stiff on unit 3d, while the VP table is probably more refined from a playability aspect, the unit 3d version blew me away with all the animations on the table.

I'd been playing a real scared stiff the previous night and this version just looks spot on.

Thanks! Not much on scared stiff right now but I'll be tuning it a little bit...

Thanks for this real nice pinballgame :otvclap: . I have got it running on my cab, the only thing is, that I have to click on the playfield once, with the mouse, after the table loaded, to get things going. Everything else then works fine, cab buttons, real DMD, etc...

Is there a way to go around this?

Thanks for help :love39:    Ralf

Hi! Glad that you like it.

We will see if it is possible for th enext release. You don't need to do it in fullscreen but I guess that in cab you can't due to multiscreen.

But you can test right now using a frontend, like PinballX which maybe ensure the launched software gains keyboard/mouse focus...

Cheers!

Here is the script I use to fix this small issue with focus.

	#SingleInstance force
	SetTitleMatchMode 2
	DetectHiddenWindows On
	SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir%

checkprocessagain:
	Process, wait, Unit3D Pinball.exe, 5.5
	NewPID = %ErrorLevel%
	if NewPID = 0
			goto checkprocessagain

	IfWinNotExist, ahk_class UnityWndClass
		WinWait ahk_class UnityWndClass
	WinActivate, ahk_class UnityWndClass
	MouseGetPos, xori, yori

loopagain:
	IfWinNotActive, ahk_class UnityWndClass
		WinActivate, ahk_class UnityWndClass
	MouseMove, %xori%, 100
	sleep 500
	MouseGetPos, xpos, ypos

	If ypos = %yori%
		goto loopagain

	MouseClick, left, 1, 1
	sleep 50
	Mousemove, %xori%, %yori%

	Process, WaitClose, %NewPID%

Return

Simply compile it with Autohotkey and use this PinballX setup:

unit3d.png

Nasty way to do it but it work pretty well for me ;)

...I have to click on the playfield once, with the mouse, after the table loaded, to get things going.....

You don't need to do it in fullscreen but I guess that in cab you can't due to multiscreen.

I have to do the same with my 1024 x 768 desktop, but it bothers me as little as Future Pinball's watermark does (not at all). What IS bothersome is trying to play Black Knight 2000 (the only table I've grabbed thus far) at FPS between 4 and 6, with Physics fluctuating from 109Hz to about 150Hz. Not sporadically, but constantly. Oddly, the ROM is running, and playing the music, at normal speed.

The Development Console is displaying,

"DllNotFoundException: C:/Program Files/Unit3D Pinball - Alpha/Unit3D Pinball_Data/Plugins/OculusPlugin.dll"

Could this have the described effect on frame rate? Also, I notice that all slashes in the above path are forward, while backslashes are used in the address; any significance to that? I checked for that file, and it is in place.

Thanks to Louizou and BilboX for the incredible work!

Thanks for the answers so far. I will try to test it.

I have this problem too on my XP system, but on Win7 it was gone. Only the mouse thing.

Hey Guys,

I got this going on my cab the other night and was wondering if it's just me and my setup or does the lighting still have issues.  I tried only one table so far, the Addams Family, and the table was really dark with default settings.  Changing the lighting makes everything really washed out and white.  Is there a certain lighting setting you guys are using? I like the feel of the ball's weight during game play and the overall physics seem nice from the little bit that I've played.

BilboX. what is the chance still for a new release before Sept 1st?  It is an extended weekend in the US that would be great for some pinball action  :dblthumb:

Hi guys. Nop, unfortunately, we won't be able to release this week-end.

There is already a lot of work done, but we would like to finish original tables API and polishing current tables before releasing.

I like dark tables, but don't worry: in the next release, you'll be able to setup lighting as you want and save YOUR preferences per table...

Thanks!! I had some folders in the wrong spot...works great!

However, how so you change it into "cabinet" mode? Rotate and scale it like VP or FP?

Really a beautiful program....I hope it comes to full fruition...

you grab one of the the corners of the window and pull it "past" its opposing corner and it rotates the screen.  Kind of hard to explain but there is a video on their site that shows the process.

In post #73 of the Pre-Alpha thread, 47PinballD offered the following report, which made me think my lame rig had a chance.....

Posted 28 December 2013 - 05:54 PM
BilboX gameplay test feedback.

TAF - 10 - 50 fps
          500 - 1000 physics

BK2K - 35 - 62 fps
            800 - 1000 physics

Dr.D -  32 - 52 fps
           700 - 1000 physics

played on a desktop in windowed mode 1024 * 768
everything turned off / down - bloom, trail, pixels, vsync, anti A, reflection, ball trail
Core 2 @ 2.66, 2GB DDR, 512MB GeForce 8500 GT

shocked I got it to play as well as it did on this old machine. Looks great on a big screen!

At first glance, it seemed that his system and mine are similar (I'm running XP, and he didn't specify an OS): his dual-core and my single-core Celeron have the same clock rate, we both run 2GB DDR ram and 1024 x 768 desktops.....and my 1GB HD4670 GPU is a bit stronger (on paper, at least) than the 8500GT, even though strangled by AGP8X. I am accustomed to this computer falling short in Visual Pinball (until VP9.9.0---Hooray!), but never without graphic artifacts, severe stutter during multiball, or even crashing; Unit3D Pinball loads and renders perfectly, my download went well and my file placement seems correct, but BK2K plays at only a small fraction of the optimum rate.

I read, or skimmed over, all 800-plus posts in the two U3DP-A threads, looking for a clue to what I may have overlooked :stunned: .....are there any opinions from fresh sets of eyes?

Thanks, all...

GSG

If you guys are interested in getting the VIrtual P-ROC controller working to script Unit3D tables in python on top of pyprocgame, please let me know. I'd be happy to help.

The VPROC controller (acting as a pinmame-like COM object) for Visual Pinball was initially developed by Gerry and destruk; I maintain a github repository for ongoing support and development of the COM bridge for feature enhancements, bug fixes and what not:

https://github.com/m...-visual-pinball

It still works with VP 9.9.0, and I've made some helpful feature enhancements for logging and system 11 and data east support.

I had been talking to Dave H (chepas, here) about getting this going within Unit3D but he seems to have dropped off the planet. I don't want this to die on the vine.

Something to think about.

Thanks!
- Michael

Wholly crap. I was just coming here to request this feature. I'm just getting started and I'd like to prototype with Unit3d. Is this possible?
