Ah don't do that!
The kit is like a joystick, so it would be like hooking up a game pad to a keyboard.
The wires only go to buttons.
You could replace the ipac with it, but since the ipac is rock solid I would just keep both.
So what you have to do is connect to USB, yes. VP support is out of the box.
For fx2 or TPA you have to use x360ce to simulate a xbox controller, as these games are stupid an only recognize analogue input from that.

I'm curious about this new plunger as well. Just by chance I was thinking of building another pin-controller the other day, and this time implementing a real plunger. Was going to get one of Zebs, but now I'm interested to see this new Virtuapin offering.

 

Any updated on a release date?

We're finalizing some performance adjustments this weekend, and they'll be shipping this coming week.

I know I've told some of you they would be shipping this week, but I'm not 100% satisfied with the plunger behavior.

I'm totally bummed about this.  I had a look at my cab and if I used the current position of my Launch Ball button for the plunger, it would hit my TV.

 

I thought about putting it below the exiting button rather than replacing it, but visually I find that less them pleasing. I think I would find it to have an unnatural feel too.

 

Looks like I may have to de-case my TV to make this fit, or perhaps cut a section of the TV case out to allow room.... both options I'm not keen on.  

 

May I ask how much cover the front panel provides above the top of the shaft please. I may be able to elongate the exiting hole downwards and position the plunger so it just clears. How far I can go will depend on how much cover that front panel provides to hide the existing hole.

Quick update:

 

We are still honing the firmware for compatibility with various motherboard manufacturers. It shouldn't be much more than a day or two for the v3 to start shipping.

You can get more clearance between the plunger and the TV by rotating the housing 180 degrees. Then it will be pointing down away from the TV. I wanted my plunger to be in the proper place so by mounting it upside down, I got all of the clearance I needed. Pics in my sig.

Thanks wrd.  Yeah that would buy me a lot of cover for the existing hole for sure. My preference however, would still be to use the front plate the right way up if I can.  I might go to the pics of the unit itself and see if I can work out just how much cover that front plate actually provides on the top side.
