I have a two-screen setup, and I like to make my DMD really large: about as big as the DMD-and-speakers space on a typical backglass. With UltraDMD, I was able to drag each table's DMD and lock it in place by right-clicking. It doesn't appear that there's such an option with FlexDMD. So what can I do? Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you're describing them backwards

I looked at the table, it did not appear to have any flex or ultra dmd stuff at all?

the floating scores were cool though

weisshund : No, I was just saying that what you described doing was kind of familiar, but, done in a very different way.

Outhere, maybe my problem isn't with FlexDMD at all. Before I installed it, when I turned on Freezy, I was able to set my DMD's size and position by click-and-drag, then lock in place. I haven't been able to do that since I dropped UltraDMD in favor of FlexDMD. This problem isn't really with UltraDMD tables, but all tables for which I use Freezy. I don't know.

Yes. Default, freezy has a fixed size - you will have to look at dmddevice.ini and adjust to your liking. Good tip, install something, read the documentation for it ;)

It might very well be that you want to use registry since you've prefer to set everything manually.

If you have flexDMD 1.6 installed, then you drag the external DLL display where you want it
resize as needed, right click and pick either same globally or save for gamename

You can also right click and pick display settings
and change the glow, brightness, dot size and a bunch of other thing

Wiesshund, that's what I used to be able to do. I still see the six white dots, but right-click does nothing for me, so I can't drag it where I want it to go and get it to save. But it looks like I've only got FlexDMD 1.5 installed. I'll work on the update, thanks.

I was in the process of using dmddevice.ini for a default DMD size and position, and putting exceptions for some tables at the bottom of the file, rather than messing with the registry.

You need Freezy 1.80 - https://vpinball.com...on/#post-115676

Yes, you can do that, it is where it stores them normally anyways.

Sounds like something came undone with your flexDMD or freezys extensions

When you unzip the new flexDMD make sure to run the flexdmdui app
and click to register it again
can even click to register it in place of ultradmd if you want

I just installed FlexDMD. When trying to run "endless summer" I get the following error message: "The temporary file D:VP NEW\VPTemp0.ttf culd not be written.".

If I then click OK I can run the table, but neither Puppack nor DMD nor DOF is working. Diablo seems OK. Can someone help?

The UI says DmdDevice64.dll was not found...there was no such file in  the downloaded files

I then unregistered FlexDMD.

When starting "endless summer" I then get an error message in the following line:

..Set UltraDMD = CreateObject("UltraDMD.DMDObject")

thx, I used the "repair Ultra.DMD" function. Its all fine again. I thought using FlexDMD might solve the stutter with some tables (like Pizzatime), but it seems, that was not the problem. I will stay with UltraDMD for now. Nevertheless, thanks for your help!

DMDDevice.dll missing is because you dont have freezy's DMD extensions installed, which he has clearly noted in all his instructions
And is kind of mandatory any more anyways

dmdext-v1.8.0-x86.zip

This goes unzipped in vpinmame folder

Where you should have also unzipped
FlexDMD.zip

"The temporary file D:VP NEW\VPTemp0.ttf culd not be written."

This has nothing to do with flexDMD at all

The table, or one before it had a font embedded in it
reboot PC and windows will let go of the font.

You can remove the font from the table by opening the table in the editor and going to the font manager
probably an old table, i dont see fonts embeddd in many fairly recent tables
usually old vp9 stuff

I then unregistered FlexDMD.

When starting "endless summer" I then get an error message in the following line:

..Set UltraDMD = CreateObject("UltraDMD.DMDObject")

Because you unregistered it with out putting anything back.
Though i do not know why you unregistered it

Hey all! So I am running this with a pindmdv3. Most of the tables run killer, but a few like AMH and Adams Family BW crash it about 2 mins in on the game. Reboots and just shows logo. Also, with AFM I am just getting a flushed DMD with the whole panel lit. Wondering if these are script issues or if I am just missing something? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well, attack from mars, and adams family do not make any use of flexDMD
those are VPinmame roms doing the DMD

AMH depends on if you are using the VBS for it that came with flexDMD or not, as to if it is using it or not

Hi all,

I cannot register FlexDmd (clicking the button does nothing) but I can register Ultradmd (clicking gives me the tick box)

Install location and files are all good and give me green ticks. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Hi ! Could you post a screenshot of the install UI ? It is supposed to give advice about what is going wrong.

Hi vbousquet,

I don't use this forum much and can't find a place to attach an image anywhere!

I have added a link to the image from my dropbox.

https://www.dropbox....G_5552.jpg?dl=0

When I click to register, I get the circle icon for a second so it is doing something. It's just that it doesn't show the tick. As I said, when I click option 3 to register ultradmd that one works.

Strange

It may be that it registers and just doesn't show me.

Any thoughts?
