The fix was to stop it crashing. If it runs without crashing your a step further :) no output is most likely down to config settings. What does the pinDMD_log.txt say?

Can you drop this file in as well to enable detailed debug log.

http://54.148.129.10...ebug/pinDMD.ini

You know what makes pinDMD work better in pinballX? When you actually put the pinDMD.dll in the pinballx directory! doh!

Thanks!

Do the same with future pinball put put the pinDMD.dll and the opengl32.dll in the root folder

The rainbow feature is nice, If you change all the colors in the rom to black it cycles through the rainbow  :juggle:

Is pinball fx2 supported ? - so far Ive got all animations to work great in pinballX

I found a pinballX.ppm in those logo files that you can use with pinDMDldImg.exe

just change the name to demo.  Then If you go into your pinballX startup settings choose to run pinDMDldImg.exe at startup

now when pbx starts it shows that demo.ppm Bonus is  that when the rom stops the demo.ppm will be default image between loading screens. :dblthumb:

no support for pinball fx i cant seem to get in contact with them.

yeah any thing that uses pinDMD3 will need the pinDMD.dll this dll is what actually talks to the pinDMD3 device without it pinDMD3 will remain dead lol.

I did get FuturePinball working though some tables work (BBB, TSPP) while others don't (Tron, TAF). Regardless... the physics on FP just don't do it for me, I wish they did as I was really looking forward to playing around with BAM.

Another update on customs ITS IN BRISTOL(where i live) in some depot so just need it at my house now!!!

Also regarding xdmd and pinballx colour support. xdmd now supports full rgb colour :) (Thanks Tom!) and Tom is currently adding an option to pinballx to turn enable/disable colour support (in case people like the monochrome look)

Once all complete and tested I will upload the new files to pinDMD.com V3 download section.

So any images/videos you want to have running on pinDMD3 xdmd is the tool to use!

the color xdmd demo that Tom posted works great.  How do we install it for xdmd table use?  Do we just copy the files into the xdmd folder or is there additional development taking place.  Same question regarding the PinballX xdmd folder.  Can we set it up with the files he provided or are we waiting for a new version?

Always looking for answers...

I am attempting to set this up in Windows 10, and I managed to get the driver installed and it shows up in Device Manager as VirtuaPin pinDMD3 (COM3), but when I try to run the pinDMD3Demo.exe I get this in the log file, any ideas?

locating device:         PASS (COM8)
creating connection:     PASS (COM8)
firmware authentication: FAIL (1)
firmware authentication: FAIL (2)
firmware authentication: FAIL (3)
firmware authentication: FAIL (4)
firmware authentication: FAIL (5)

Edit: Now I see the problem, it is trying on COM8, which is also showing in Device Manager as VirtualPin pinDMD3, but that was my zebs plunger/nudge controller.  Why is it being recognized as pinDMD3 now?

Edit2: OK nevermind, I reinstalled the zebs driver and it looks like we're all good now

Its because i think zeb is using the same haedware as pinDMD and the drivers get a bit confused. There is way to force pinDMD to use a set comport number (and not try and find it by its self). For I
if you have these problems again.

Russ, I am very frustrated! I can't get Windows 10 to even recognize the board, let alone manually install the drivers. Ran through all the instructions on the forum, tried evrything, tried again, then again... Nothing. It's like it isn't there. I have no clue what to do next. (Yes, I did the trick to install unassigned drivers by holding down shift and restarting, but it still won't recognize it. I even tried every usb port on my machine with no luck.). Bottom line is it doens't show up under ports ir anywhere else for that matter!
