I'm not getting an upload with Space Invader PD 1-2
Which version of VP8 should I use?
In the .ini, the VP8 example is listed as "VPinball_8.1.exe" but the _underscore is not the original name.
My copy is named VPinball8.1.exe
And then, would the Capital Letters (VP)inball.8.1.exe make a difference?
I am assuming that the database is looking for the exact name of the version of VP8 in use?

Also, PD's version of this machine offers a choice of the original six digit ROM or the custom seven digit ROM. I used the six digit ROM.
Am I one digit short? Which ROM should I use?

Okay, I renamed VPinball8.1.exe to VPinball_8.1.exe, restored the same name in the pinemhi.ini (I had used VPinball8.1.exe previously) and tried Space Invaders PD 1-2.
Nothing.

I then reset the Space Invaders PD menu to use the seven digit ROM and then it worked.

Party Zone VP8 (8.1?) is still not working, even after.
I deleted the nvram and cfg files.

Is the correct name "The Party Zone" or will "Party Zone" work?
The ROM in use is "pz_f4.
Do I have the right table and ROM?

Do the Dip Switches have to be set to a specific setup?

I found it. Party Zone VP8 uses pz_f4, same as the VP9 version, but the database expects PZ_L2 for VPinball_8.1.exe and I would also check the database for the FS ROM version.
I know I didn't change the table ROM before tonight because the flipper switches in the PZ_L2 ROM are different than the SW settings in the VP8 table script and using VP8 Party Zone with the PZ_L2 ROM, the flippers do not work, but the score does upload with PZ_L2.

It looks like the database requires VP8 tables that have an available 7 digit bootleg ROM to use the 7 digit ROM.

None of these tables report when I use the standard 6 digit ROMs.

My scores arent submitting again after the update, same as last time.

Ok, reboot fixed it.

sleepy,

It doesn't matter what VP8 version you use or how you name it....as long as the name in the ini file is the same as the executable-name
All roms should work 6-digit or 7 , pz_f4 or pz_l2 , I programmed it to use all available roms for the games....

The party zone should also work with the pz_f4 , I just set a score with that rom using VP8 and it submitted
I also ran space invaders VP8 and set scores (and submitted them) using the 7 digit and 6 digit rom.

The tablenames should be the same as when you download them so for teh party zone VP8 the table would be Party Zone
Dipswitches shouldn't be changed , but that is only because we want a fair competition ( setting them doesn't affect the program in anyway)

So clearly there has to be something else that's going on here.....
Do you get a message after playing ?....... something like "game not played"
When you get the "game not played" message that could be if the table takes longer than 70 seconds to load......When you don't fill in the menu (at the start of Space invaders PD) in that time this could happen......

or if you get to the "submit this score ?" window and you press yes maybe there is no internet connection or the firewall prevents the score.
If you can provide a bit more info on what exactly happens maybe we can figure it out

I have tried HGT a heap of times and it wont submit a score to the site.
It acts like it does, but doesnt show up.
For testing also, if letting the balls drain to finish a game, it says "STOP, No game played" if under 100,000.
EDIT : actually, it said STOP after a full game this time

Silverball mania took a second go for it to work.

All the others seem fine.... unsure.gif

PS : my work is done for today

Letting the balls drain within say 50 seconds will do that..... giving the No game played message
You could avoid that by waiting to hit escape a little bit longer so that the 70 seconds after the startup of the table (clicking the play VP9 button) have passed.

Very strange... there have been 4 other scores submitted already with that game by other players
I will have a go at HGT and see if it works ok on this end..

-edit- Just submitted a score , all works well here....
maybe the connection to the server didn't go well ???
Perhaps a reboot and another try would help ?

And congrats on REGAINING YOUR TITLE whtflag.gif Worship.gif dblthumb.gif

Well hopefully it's allright the next time you play.

I didn't post the most amazing score but it works. TAF 60mil. I just wanted to make sure it works. Thanks DNA for the hookup. 2 things...

1. When I start the AHK after a computer reboot it will never play the game just kinda lags. But soon as I start the AHK again it works fine from then on out. Until I cleanly close the program... Not sure

Win 7 x64 Ultimate (all settings off)
i5k 8gb

2. would a rotated view be possible for FS? I know its going to be supported in hyperfp but if its not too much to ask smile.gif

Other than that awesome. Maybe one day Ill post a record score. But until then I pretty much suck.

Hi yagesz,

On topic 1 , I haven't experienced that so not sure how that could happen.....

On topic 2 , the hiscores for hyperfp are not the same....
That program is for displaying hiscores only (so no submit to a database)
Trying to make it rotate is quite some work I'm afraid , don't really know how to do that so lots of digging in AHK needed.....

1. I will take a screenshot video of what the computer is doing. Is there a log file of any kind I could show you to help? Its not an issue I mean I get around it fairly easily. (If you want me to so it can be addressed.)

2. Alright. Thanks on the clarification of the rotation. I just wanted to ask to see if at all possible.

Thanks ced,

played the wrong version a few times and got 439xxxxxx ...... then installed 1.02 and it plays so different.
Then got that score 1st game.

Need to hook up a new monitor to play FS here online, before I pull the cab apart again ..... then more challenge in pinemhi for FS.
This screen is a WS but only has 4:3 res, so I just zoom for WS tables ..... and has big chunks and lines missing.

4:3

Zoomed (16:9)

Thanks ced

and Happy New Year to all (that was yesterday .... you are all dragging the chain a bit)

the old version was good for constant top flipper looping and I was used to that
the new version was different for looping, but much nicer look and play, also got to Graceland ... only had the one game. I need to play it more.
