Looks awesome!    I noticed that the bigfoot head isn't turning smoothly.  Are you using cvpmMech?   I have a "drop in" replacement class that allows for full 60fps motion.  I really ought to get the change into core.vbs but if you're interested you can use the following code:

https://pastebin.com/79D1u5sW

And just change "cvpmMech" to "cvpmMyMech", no other changes should be required unless the number of steps are low.

I checked and it is just a normal script sub. So I upped the bigfoot turning FPS from 20 to 60, already in, looks better now! Turning timer was at 50ms, is now at 17ms.

Will the light/darkness be adjustable?

If the question is: is this not too dark? In the evening on my cab (with a samsung 40" TV) it looks very good, with the room lights turned off. But you can up the day night slider and/or maybe raise the playfield material brightness a bit. The playfield material is now quite dark, see for reference the post of Wrd1972's experience on a tradeshow with a virtual pin, in comparison to real pins. I will also include another LUT, which has less contrast.

This is with day night slider on 5 instead of 2 and the playfield material color raised from 60,60,60 to 100,100,100 (left=like in the video, right=with raised settings):

screenshot940_t.jpg

I know it’s a personal preference & I prefer a slightly brighter table in order to see all the colors & make them “pop”. I frequently adjust the day night slider in order to accomplish that.

I just tried to experiment with the playfield material color on a couple tables but cannot find the setting.

In the Editor screen I go to Properties > Table > Playfield Graphics > Material. The tables I looked at have this selected as “Playfield” but don’t show anything regarding material color, and I looked at all the Table tabs.

Where is the playfield material color setting found?

Thanks

I’d likely play Whitewater at a setting more like the image on the right, but would enjoy the ability to dial it down as dark as the left image for a unique experience once in a while.

Press F4 (material editor), select the “playfield” material and change the topmost color setting. If that already is at 255,255,255 then this obviously cannot brighten the playfield. Then you are back at the day night slider.

Btw: please make sure that in the nvidia/amd setting the playfield TV or monitor is set at full rgb(0-255) and not limited rgb (16-235):
https://pcmonitors.i...a-and-amd-gpus/

Thanks all for the feedback, I will default the table at a brighter setting.

flupper1 -

Thank you for the information. I experimented changing the color material on a few tables & it works.

I’m familiar with full vs. limited color but never played with this setting since installing the NVIDIA video card on my desktop PC.

I can select “With the NVIDIA settings” and change this to Full, as shown in the first picture. If I go back to the original “With the video player settings” it then shows Full but it is grayed out as seen in the second picture. I’m presuming I should use Full as in the first picture, correct?

Thanks again.

I think you are looking in the wrong area, it should be at the display > change resolution tab (" output dynamic range" ), this should be on full

Tried Supersampling last night, looks AMAZING, but obviously reduces performance quite a bit as expected.

About lightning, I have been looking this video lately, and of course it is a matter of personal preference but I like these conditions which allow some slight daylight and some great bulb lights the best, more the right image posted above.

You can see it when lights turn off that the playfield stands out a bit.

flupper1 and softfish -

Interesting that you brought that up. I was looking for other settings in my NVIDIA Control Panel when I posted those pictures, but my Change Resolution screen looks different than everything else I’ve seen, either online or in my own Control Panel Help. I don’t have all those settings. Here’s what mine looks like.

What driver version are you using Brer Frog? I know that they changed the location at some point. Try looking through the other tabs, i forget what it used to be under. (assuming you have an older driver).

It could be that you can't change it because of the monitor you're using. I'm not too sure.

Changing it in those other options you showed pictures of may work for you. You'll be able to tell if you set your desktop as a black background. It will be darker and less grey when set to 0-255.

Driver is vers 378.49. When I searched last night IIRC something like vers 352 & newer had settings like you mentioned. Even my NVIDIA control panel instructions follow what flupper1 mentioned. I did quite a bit of searching for missing control panel settings but came up empty. I also thought about the monitor being the issue, but would think the instructions would mention something. I'll try the 27" monitor for the mini-cab which has an HDMI connection & report back.

It probably is the monitor. I have a second 1680x1050 connected with dvi and don't have that option. It's only available for my 46inch tv hooked up with hdmi.

It is definitely the dvi connection, that does not have this option. That always should give you 0-255 full RGB, my advice is only for hdmi (maybe also DP). Only other tab you could look at is “adjust desktop color settings”, if you want to change the brightness/colors, but you could also do that with your monitor controls.

The 27" monitor with an HDMI connection brings up all the options.

The new video looks insane!!! :otvclap: The new VPX benchmark table when it comes to graphics for sure.

The current lighting is perfect to my taste; it shouldn't be lighter or darker imo.

I was wondering if you don't mind me asking the noob question, regarding to sound will the table have Surround Sound? Forgive my ignorance in Visual Pinball development, but I was also wondering if what happens at 3:53 and 3:56 of the video I posted of the real machine (it happens many times actually and it happens at 0:56 of your last video) is emulable. I am talking about the clicking sound of the ball bouncing in the metal ramps. I notice the importance of mechanical sounds in real pinball, all the loud clicks and ramps and bouncing and jumping that happens usually when you lose track of the ball, beautiful sounds in my opinion but I don't know if possible, I don't know if it is easy or difficult. Solenoids add much to the experience but the feeling I got when I heard the ball jumping in Medieval Madness Reloaded was more inmersive.

*no pressure*

I will ask for help with the surround sound. But first I will have to implement the basic sounds, like when hitting metal.
