Do you know if that includes playfield and matrix addresable led. In dofconfig tool those lines are blank. Thanks

I haven't a clue since I do no have DOF, well, I don't even have a cabinet :)

UPDATE

5.0.0 Updated 20.09.2023
- Updated for VPX8, including new Rev 3 physics for objects, playfield and flippers, animated objects using internal VPX8 animate, updated LUT with 10 shades and also 10 warmer colors, changed the lights and linked lights to flashers, changed the flashers to be more bright.
- Changed the graphics to be closer to Stern's table.
- Made new DMD letters, so they look better with FlexDMD.

The table is the same as before, same rules, the changes are in the graphics and the flipper physics, although the ramps has also changed due to the new physic materials, and they are easier to hit & climb.
Many people kept asking to use the original Stern graphics, so I have used the playfield as a base, but it still has my lights & inserts. It is still the Slimer table :)
I guess I did updated also the mechanical sounds, but they should sound similar to before :)

PS: I still think the Stern playfield is a complete mess :D

Thank you for this fantastic table. Is it possible that the marshmallow man in the top right corner shake when nudged like saucers in the Attack From Mars?

Yes, no problem. Find the lines 207-209 and add : StayPuftShake at the end, like this:

    If keycode = LeftTiltKey Then Nudge 90, 5:PlaySound "fx_nudge", 0, 1, -0.1, 0.25:CheckTilt: StayPuftShake
    If keycode = RightTiltKey Then Nudge 270, 5:PlaySound "fx_nudge", 0, 1, 0.1, 0.25:CheckTilt: StayPuftShake
    If keycode = CenterTiltKey Then Nudge 0, 6:PlaySound "fx_nudge", 0, 1, 1, 0.25:CheckTilt: StayPuftShake

HI ALL i just downloaded version 4.0.1

i have the table working, but i do not get ANY DMD.

I can not use FLEXDMD, because i am running xp, and i understand FLEXDMD is not compatable with XP.

i will be updating operating system in the future when i have time.

till then, how can i get a DMD to show on this table?

i have a 3 screen setup, no PUP or anything fancy. Just 3 LCD screens. my DMD screen is the traditional size..

is there a workaround to see the score display?  thanks///sparky

You cannot, not really

You could try shoving the DMD over the table, but that wont work or look very good

HI WIESSHUND, thanks for the quick reply.

how would i go about doing that?

before i updated to v4, i have been running v1.2.1.

that version shows the DMD on the table near the pop bumpers.

i would be happy with that if it is the only way to get scores to show.

i currently have no scores showing at all in V4.. thanks/sparky

You would take the group of flashers JP made the DMD out of, and literally drag them over from the left side of the table, and then up or down and it would be a lot of trial and error

Id suggest maybe try to put them over the apron so as to not block the table

may also need to set the rotation of the flashers to 0 since they are rotated for desktop view

JP can answer better

It is right as wiesshund says, but it will be a lot of trial and error, as you will not only need to set the rotation of the flashers to 0 you will also need to change their height.

Here you have the DMD flashers rotated, aligned and on top of the apron:

Attached File  DMD on apron.zip   10.51KB   7 downloads

You just need to delete first the DMD flashers from the Deadpool table and after that copy/paste the ones from this table.

hi guys, thanks for the help.

i was able to easily drag the dmd over the playfield.

i had a real hard time figuring out sizing.

i noticed that when changing rotX to 0, the lower row of lettering/ numbers overlapped the upper row.

it took a long time for me to figure out how to separate the 2 rows, but i got it figured out.

i downloaded the DMD apron zip, copied and pasted it into ghostbusters, but couldnt figure out how to activate it.

i also could not understand the HEIGHT 272. when i would make changes for trial and error, the upper row of text would disappear off the dmd.

anyway, after about 3 hours of trying to learn how the dmd adjustments are made, i ended up with the dmd over the apron. a bit larger than i was trying for, but ive got both rows of text showing, and rotX at 0.

and at least i am able to now see the scores and dmd.

realistically, positioning the dmd was very easy. figuring out why the lower text overlapped the upper a bit after rotating, and how to correct it took a while. i think i spent most of the time trying to resize, and trying to figure out how to utilize the dmd on apron zip. i ended up having to ignore the apron dmd for my own sanity.

below is a screenshot of what i ended up with. i can live with it.

i dont know how you guys get so good at this stuff.......

thanks for everything!!!/sparky

DMD must be higher than the apron
DMD digits need to be a unit higher than the larger background flasher, so the digits stay on top

Spacing requires tinkering because JP designed them to be angled, for desktop point of view

when you flatten then you get overlap

You do not do anything to make dmd apron zip work execept open both tables in same vpx instance

select all DMD parts in the original and delete

then go to dmd apron and select all DMD parts and copy

then come back to original and paste (not paste AT)

and they will just work

Why didn't you just copy/paste the DMD flashers from the table I sent you?

Hmmmm. I will give it a try again.

I Did try the apron zip.

I opened the apron zip, selected the dmd at the bottom. Clicked copy.
Then went to GB, pasted, and it showed a blank dmd on the apron when played.

I then selected all dmd from GB, and erased, but i got a warning about erasing them.
I confirmed to erase, but then the table would not launch.

I noticed that when pasting the apron dmd in, the flasers started at #43 instead of #1.

After that, I believe i also tried to delete the GB dmd first, then add the apron so that the apron flashers would start at #1, but i believe that the table wouldnt launch after i removed the GB DMD because of the warning message. ( i will try this one again to confirm) this seems to be the order that Wiesshund suggested above.

Thank you guys, for helping with this. Sparky

Yes, I saw that when pasting the flasher, that the flasher using the grid on top didn't got its image d_grid. Anyway, here you have the table with the DMD on the Apron :) Then this table could be used as a copy/paste for other tables using the same DMD, like all my originals, and mods:

hi JP, thank you again for your help.

i just copy and pasted the dmd from the file you posted above.

this time it went much smoother.

i got the warrning message about the elements, when i deleted the old dmd,

i pasted the copied dmd into the 10.7 V4 table (i dont have VP10.8 yet).
i then had the dmd displayed on the bottom apron and it shows scores, etc. however, the dmd shows through a white milky haze. i figured out that i had to make image A "grid" to correct it.

i am also still trying to understand an issue with the height adjustment, so i can fully understand how the dmd works. Weisshund explained that the height has to be higher than playfield objects so that the dmd is not blocked by the object.when i change the height, for exapmle, the dmd must be higher than the apron to be seen.

however, i am experiencing some strange behavior when adjusting the height.

the current height is set at 91. when i change the height to something like 100 for example, the top row of test disappears. but even stranger is when i change height back to 91, the text does not re-appear.
is this some sort of glitch with the dmd?

i want to understand this so i can edit for other tables in the future....

UPDATE:  i just took the dmd apart into 3 main parts. top row, bottom row, and dmd grid area.
by playing around with them separately, it is a bit easier to understand. i made an adjustment to the depth bias to the top row (-1000) so it is the same -2000 as the bottom row, now the top row is showing. i think i am getting it figured out now... is there a reason that the top row depth bias is set different than the bottom row depth bias?

thanks/sparky
