You are sent an email when your order is packing and when your order ships. Shipping notification includes tracking.

Unfortunately I haven't had any time to further test my system or take any pictures/details of the setup. However I'm sure it has nothing to do with the VP version. The calibration loss happens even without VP. It's clearly seen from the game controller properties screen. If I start computer / re-plug the controller and open the properties -> z-axis works 100%. Then even without starting VP it gradually lowers after about 15 mins.

 

Now the shorter tube seems to have helped me a bit and the calibration loss seems to be smaller now. I just haven't had extra time to further test this... so I really can't be absolutely sure if it works permanently or not. It's also annoying to test because after any change you need to wait 15 min to see if your change had any impact or not...but if I find anything more I will surely post it here right away. Because when it works perfectly -> it's a really really nice kit!

Btw... I guess there isn't any way to programmatically trigger the calibration? With a program / command line script etc.?

 

I played around with Microsoft Devcon (command line device manager sw) that let's you enable/disable/restart devices from command line but unfortunately doing that to the controller did not re-calibrate it. I would be totally ok with a button in my cab that calibrates the controller.

For everyone having this issue, they must contact me on or before December 12th, and we'll service the kit at no charge.

Anyone else having problems with their kit is invited to do the same. I don't, and never will, leave you guys hanging or feeling disappointed.

We just want everyone to be happy.

Hi Noah, I live in the UK but I'm over in Midland, Michigan for 3 weeks in December with my job. Do you think I have time to order a new plunger and get it shipped to Midland before the middle of December?

Hello everyone ! told them my experience .. after struggling with my new plungler for two consecutive days .. work to achieve perfection.

 

My problem was that connected the device to the PC and configured it , but for some reason the device would disappear from windows , first I thought it might be windows problem so reinstall the OS ( windows 7 64bit ) but the problem persisted .

resorted all possible solutions .. but without success.

 

At the last moment when I was about to give up. I realized that the device would disappear when put in place the playfield .. that's when I realized that the tube was not the problem but the box, proceeded to set up the machine again but this time with the box outside the pinball , place the playfield in place and to my surprise the device works for first time   .

 

My deduction was that for some reason the unit stopped working due to interference.

 

solution:

Remove the lid of the box , place cigarette paper with tape to insulate.

Now I am enjoying my spectacular Plunger .

 

 

I hope this solution helps someone else.

Well, it concretes my suspicions over the last few days.

I have been completely unable to reproduce any of the problems, and many of the kits returned worked just fine here.

RF shielding sounds like the fix. I'll be ordering some material and making it available, at no cost, for those who need it.

I taped up mine with AC Duct tape (metal), do you think that will work?  I have been having very intermittent problems with table just automatically tilting by itself.

I too have been having issues…I also think its interference OR a bad ground or shield within the kit itself… added a ferrite to usb cable but problem with TILTING and no PLUNGER still happening.. im wondering if the kit(keyboard encoder part) itself is interfering with the nudge sensor or the plunger pcb? again i have no idea just trying to help solve this pesky BUG as i have spent days trying to get one working. i have 2 others that seem "ok" but do tilt crazy to top and ball floats up there like your lifting front of table in air!  rare though but does happen.

No it's basically foil, which will give you some level of shielding. I too have seen it with the USB avr decoders. Different product same issues. Solved that by grounding the device to the coindoor. Applying a shield around the device should do the trick.

I'd like to take the thing apart and tap into the grounds and really GROUND the sucker to see if it helps.. but dont want to void the warranty

is just that, is the role it plays in cigarette case.

Place it because I had something else in my power at that time .. and how it works well stay in there.

Wouldn't make any difference. You get your ground from the USB, which is sufficient. Shielding is something else and I agree that it might work.

Assuming that all three pcb's are grounded in kit. I never assume

too bad as I left my machine running when I left for work today, when I teamviewered into it it is all f**ked up.  the calibration screen under devices show it at steady at the bottom of the grid.  Automatically tilts upon start of any table.  This is a newer metal tapped box, so no go with that.  

 

Shit I just received my second one, Will swap it with my "bad" on when I get home.  I don't always have this problem, very strange.  Another reason I'm not in the hardware business.
