I made the mistake of blindly following the assembly instructions with no independent thought to how it would be mounted in the end.  It wasn't until I had it most of the way together that the light went off.  So I had to take it all the way apart again, drill holes in the base, install the PCB feet and then re-assemble it all again...  :(

But hey, in the scheme of things, it's a small bump in the road...   ;)

Yeah, sorry about that everyone. I should probably address that issue before I place another order of mounting plates.

This is why customer feedback is a good thing.... :D Thanks for letting me know.

Now's probably a bad time to tell you to undo the nuts under the plate and remove the boards as a unit huh?.... :tapping:

I knew I was getting tired at that point and time to stop for the day.  Tired head can turn into catastrophy pretty quickly...

Thanks for these boards Zeb, and no apologies necessary.  You're still saving us all a ton of time by building these!  :)  But glad I could contribute to further refinement.   ;)

Salut Vulbas, je me demandais si c'était vous .... :)

Merci encore.

Hi vulbas, I wondered if that was you....:)

The supplier that I use for the boards mistakenly sent me the wrong order so I have no boards for a week or so while they send me out a replacement order. I'll get the order out for you as soon as possible once I receive the parts.

Thanks again.

Hi zebulon,

I have been thinking about something.

I have VirtuaPin button kit and they are connected to your booster board.

But I can see that some of the buttons are _really_ hard to see light up like the extra ball etc. While launch and Start light up just fine ?

Not sure what kind of buttons are in that kit, but I would guess that you need more voltage to them. Are you running them at 5v or 12v? Are they led buttons or bulbs?

They are all bulbs but I think there are different and that is why (like you said).

Should I just buy new bulbs/leds? :( Or could I change the voltage to some of the buttons but not all.

http://virtuapin.net...&products_id=38

When looking at the description it sounds like they all should be 5v? This is strange...

Looks like the supplier shipped 12v assembles, instead of 5.

You would just need a box of 555's to swap them out. If they're hard to find there, let me know, and I'll send you one.

Thank you for the reply. May I ask what 555 is? :S Can I buy that in Denmark?

Zeb, is your board taking damage of using the other buttons?

Nope, no worries about the boards, they can take it...:)

#555 is the size, shape and voltage rating of the light bulbs that you need.

I was wondering with the current version of the booster board, I am seeing that the older version of the boards you needed to jump the top and bottom boards together, then i read a post that powering the boards you need a 20 pin (not 24 pin) computer power supply to power both boards?  Is that true or do both boards still need to be jumped?  I saw this in another post and I dont quite understand what is being explained....Do you still need to wire the two boards together as pictured below?

Thanks for the help.....

the current revision just needs to be plugged straight into the power supply, the 20pin connector to the lower board and a 4pin drive connector to the upper board. On most power supplies, the extra 4 pins on the atx connector can be removed to make it into a 20 pin connector.
