Also, as I updated the table I see I got my first rating! 1 out of 5 from Tripcore (a guy who rates but has never posted on the forum a day in his life! Come on, a little feedback on why?). Could of been unhappy about the gate problem, but again, it never happened here & I couldn't have predicted that people were gonna have problems with it. I can only work with & tweak things that I see, so, oh well, fixed it quickly & hope there is no other issues. People can rate 1 out of 5, but if you do so I'd really appreciate you following it up with a short explanation of what is the problem (which maybe did happen) or if its a preference thing, then what I could do better.
I'm open to feedback to make tables better. & I admit I may be rusty with some things as its been a while since I released a table, so let me hear it if you have comments.

Tripcore rates a lot of tables. You really never know what a rating means or what they were rating. Some people rate their friends a 5, some rate whether they like the real table, some rate the way the table plays, some how it looks.

I really think the authors want a rating on how good of a VP job they did with the materials available, but I don't think very many people rate tables with that in mind. With that being said, if someone downloads a table that doesn't work for them, then it could easily get a rating of 1, especially if the rater is anonymous like on a lot of forums.

I'm right there with you on that. sometimes I'll test a table like 300 times and not have an issue and as soon as I release it problems start popping up

I havent updated to 1.01 yet i'll do that now. Maybe it was beginners luck but the extra ball is pretty easy to get on this table I got 2 of them on my first play, i haven't played it since though. I'm using the NVRAM included with the file. I hate 5 ball tables, a good pinball player only needs 1. I'm glad this table is not 5 balls.

I actually think in real life often times 5 ball is better, though it does depend on the table. Then in VP I often like 3 ball. But if the nudging upgrades Noah & highrise are talking about in the nudging thread get implemented, that could no doubt make VP tables much harder to manipulate & I might opt for 5 ball more often on some tables.
However, I'm a fan of using factory settings, which is why I include nvram's with my tables.

When you first play a game/rom, the defaults never seem to be what they should be. I don't know how pinmame or roms come up with what should be the default settings, I just know that when I look in the manual they are usually different. I made this nvram a long time ago, but I'm almost positive I went 100% with the defaults the manual said to use. The factory recommended settings or whatever.
IMHO you always want to play a pin with the recommended settings, & I've found that they usually are the best settings are far as striking a good balance between being too tough or too easy. Or games lasting too long or too short.

I remember when it was more common for authros to toss in an nvram with their table that has the default or best settings. Who used to do that? Destruk maybe, might have been PD. I don't remember. But it seems these days nobody throws in nvrams anymore.
Thus I'm still playing some games that probably don't have optimal settings & never have. I don't really have the time or will to go through every game manual to figure out the factory recommended settings, which is why its extra nice when the author does it for you.

Kinda got off topic there! Shut up rob!
About the extra ball. If you think that is too easy, I'm sure changing some dip settings would take care of that. The game is already in extra ball mode and also the special awards an extra ball as well. Many old games like this stick you to a 1 extra ball limit per game, but I don't remember if Amazon Hunt does.
Besides, I semi disagree about it being easy to get the EB.

I think it can be easy to light the extra ball lamp, but you need to nail that center inlane on top of the table to get it, which without a clear lane that goes up there, I think requires a little luck. Sometimes you might collect it right away, but I bet some games you are going for it & just can't get it.
That's what I like about this game, you gotta decide if & when its worth purposely going for the EB or even building up for it. If you are close to lighting the black drops for 50k, you might wanna say screw the EB & attack the black drops. You also have the choice to try & build up that bonus or try to get you points via the drops. Sometimes the drops don't set up favorably (you get the 7/10 split!) & you might wanna shoot the upper PF to nail those add bonus targets, cuz that can get up to 100k and 3x.
I know this seems like a simple game, but read those rules & you learn about how that last ball lights 2x & 3x if you can complete ABC. So to master this game you can't focus on the drops all the time. I like how the rules kinda force you to wanna mix it up a little & make use of that upper PF.

OK, Thanks.
Changing the gate length value to 70, the ball works properly.

By the way, and if this will be help for anyone, since it took me quite time to find out: to edit the gate length value you must check "Options" from the Edit menu.

Glad it seems everything is working normal with v1.01. But does anybody have an answer for me on how v1.0 never had this problem for me & some others, yet some people had the ball getting stuck? I'm not only confused by it, but a little worried that stuff I'm working on now might have this issue & I wouldn't even know it!

Anyhow, full screen.

UncleWilly said he might try a conversion. The table really isn't set up to be angle independent, so its not gonna be as easy to convert to FS due to the use of a few reels & decals. But he's welcome do whatever he needs to do to make the conversion.

I personally don't play FS tables so for me its not worth taking the time to learn FS conversions as of now. Other people are good at it & play FS anyhow, so why not let them, like UW, take care of the FS stuff if they want. I got nothing against FS, but I enjoy messing with VP to build stuff to my preference. FS isn't in my wheelhouse so I'm not gonna swing at it! Simply, I'd never take the time to build or convert a table for FS when I know I would never even play it myself. That could change if I ever get a cab or software for FS improves more.
Though if I ever make an angle independent table, which might be unlikely, then that would be a simple FS conversion I could definitely do.

& I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you pesky kids & that dog!

Yeah, I started this table over 4 years ago. At the time I was actively working on both VP & FP tables. I loved the graphics FP provided, so since I was a pretty decal/reel heavy author anyhow at the time, I thought it might be cool to try the first hybrid table. Take the best thing about FP & merge it with VP. I was away for quite some time after building this table, so while I remember that I was the 1st person to blend FP into VP, I have no clue if anybody has done it since. I would assume that somebody has, especially in the pre-VP9 era before angle independence was as big of a deal.
I didn't even mention any of this in the table notes as I blabbed enough already in them!

So who else has since tried this? I'm curious to see how it turned out.
I know VP9 tables can be made damn pretty these days, thus amazon hunt doesn't stand out like it may have at one time. But I figured that AH had clear/whitish looking posts, what better than FP to make them? AH also has the pyramid shaped rollover lane guides that you see. Hard enought to create those with VP objects now, let alone in VP7.

While I like the concept of this, it sure wasn't easy to do. & basically had to build the whole table in FP as well & match the angles, then you can imagine all the cutting & placing & photoshop stuff I had to do. So it wasn't the easiest route to take to build a table, but I liked how it turned out. But most tables don't have clear posts & pyramid shaped guides, so at least in this case the whole FP/VP thing worked out well & ended up being worth the time spent doing it, I think.

Did you use the included nvram? Try tossing that in as it should have background sound enabled by default.
Other than that, maybe your settings just got changed somehow. Press F6 & make sure "background sounds" is still checked. If not, check it & restart the game. If you still don't have background sound, then I'm not sure what the deal is.
I guess you could try clearing out the cfg & nvram.

removed the vpt, cfg, rom and nv file. Then installed all fresh but rom sounds are gone. It might have something to do with playing Fast Draw that uses same rom but i deleted everything and reinstalled with no effect.

bummer. its amazing how much difference a little sound can make.

You didn't say whether or not you checked if background sounds are enabled after this cleanup. Press F6, make sure the box is ticked. If not, then tick box & restart.
If that doesn't work, I really don't know what to tell you other than your pinmame settings or install might be screwy.
