Future Pinball, right?

My plan is to turn Pinbotic into a VP'er. smile.gif

If anyone has a concrete and workable idea for a theme and what they'd like to see on it that's realistic within the timeframe, I'm on hand to join a team and come up with a playfield design for it. By necessity, a four week deadline demands something relatively uncomplicated, since a scripter and an artist won't be able to progress without a template to work from, so any such layout must concentrate on flow and raw gameplay rather than gimmicks and toys.

I know that my skills can't compete with the rest of the guys here.

I do have an idea for a table down on paper and going to try to do it in VP. But, my artist and music guy is a personal friend of mine and he's not big on joining message forums or anything.

Do all members of the team have to belong to this site? Right now my team would be just myself and my best friend of 20+ years.

Anyone can make a table. This is one of my favorite tables from 2002. It would get my vote in a contest. It is by Cold1 and is called Ouija Board. The game starts out as a Ouija Board and you have to really concentrate on the board as it morphs into a great table. Works in VP9 also.

Everyone should play it at least once. 2 megs attached.

BUMP!

C'mon people - FORM A TEAM!!!!

Let's have some fun - it doesn't matter if you haven't got great ideas, or loads of skill, or loads of time - let's just get something done & have a laugh

...as far as I'm concerned you can laugh all you want at the table my team creates, and I'm sure we'll enjoy making it...but we can only do that if some people decide to PLAY!!!!!!!

Regards,
Dan.

Right now myself and Highrise are together on a team since we both have similar ideas on how to proceed within the time-limit; something relatively quick to construct, but a non-standard design that's interesting to the eye. So we're looking at something akin to a Gottlieb System 80 style of game, like one of John Trudeau's whiteboards that never made it into production for reasons of cost.

We're also being encouraged not to stick with just the two experts and to take a novice or two on board.

I find it quite funny that you are going to John Trudeau's whiteboards because that was the first thing I did too. I had a tab open for every table listed with John Trudeau under the person category and "none" under quantity produced. There were some pretty cool designs there that could have been great, especially some of the multi-level designs. Make sure that you make it clear to Noah that you are officially forming a team so that we can get this underway as soon as possible.

THE JUDGING of the tables will be done privately, by our staff, without discussion. We will score the tables on the above criteria on a scale of 1-10 in each category. The points will be added up to determine an overall score. VPF Staff, of course, cannot participate in this contest.

Oh dear, I only just noticed this. This will most definitely be interesting.
