How would this work in a table that uses reels on the backglass for table graphics? Would you have to choose one or the other or will you be able to set individual reels to either display on monitor 1 or monitor 2?

At least most FS tables over the past several months have been angle independent. Reels shouldn't be a huge problem, except in the case of older VP8 tables that were converted to FS later on. Though off the top of my head, it'd make the slot machine on my Who Dunnit Mod DOA.

Still, this is fantastic work. I can't wait to see it in action for myself.

You are right. We must think of something for the reels.

I finally upload the video to youtube.

I love this!!

Also, don't forget about adding resolution options.

Too bad it's going to make most of Flying Dutchman's work obsolete. Would it be possible to have a way to import the existing UVP's?

Maybe I can do something outside of Visual Pinball to export files UVP. But it would have to manually modify the script so that everything works.

this is excellent, although you are only using the small spider? The one we built has a full backglass view and Spider which I created especially for when some clever soul figured out how to make it work smile.gif

It uses overlapping reels to give a large, 48 frame animated spider. I'd love to see if it works. If you look in the script, you should find the line:

If keycode = KeyJoyUp then HideBackdrop

if you get rid of this line then the backdrop will stay on the screen once you press the 'up' key.

I have seen the reels you say. I figured they were for UVP.

I am now in my work. Later I modified the script and upload a video.

I think i'm a little confused with some terminology here, those videos look really neat, but what i am wondering about are the old style score counters that are like reels, what are they called and is it possible to have them on backglasses in VP running from hyperpin?

No, EM reels on the backglass are not possible yet. But supposedly it is being worked on. I am really looking forward to this and hoping that it will be possible soon.

That said. With certain hardware/software configurations, you can run Spanned 16:9 tables. These are made to be spanned across dual sreens if you can support spanned screens (rather than 'extended desktop'). They have full working backglasses.

Thank you for clearing that up.

I'm hoping that the LEDs that are mentioned in the UVP help topic i joined up in are a reasonable substitute for now, i'll even be happy with the DMD/LED display as a block as long as i can enjoy the tables...

Not sure if i want to delve into spanned tables...I've managed to avoid a lot of ATI's issues so far in VP and anything that tempts fate may be unwise (like it'll work fine and i'll fry my motherboard or something).

I'm really excited to see those reels on the backglass though, thanks for the news. I'll be honest i think this is the first time i've looked forward to learning any type of scipting as i have a few ideas for tables but i'm absolutely CLUELESS about table design and scripting. Looks like there are tons of resources here though.

Highrise, here's the video with the big spider

Was this feature ever implemented in VP? This effect is exactly what I'm trying to do at the moment, which is to run the spinning spider backdrop on a second monitor.

It seems like it was used in JP's Spider-man but I'm not sure if it was engineered differently.

Thanks.
