gotta love the onboard graphics they keep me from running FP and the new tables with fading lights (most of Unclewillys) don't run smooth enough to play at all, sigh...

I don't know any specific card to recommend over a boatload of others, but by comparing what you have with some common preferences, while considering how thoroughly or expensively you're willing to change, you should be able to get an idea.

First, a little confusion on my part; the only Pentium 4 CPU #641 specs I could find list 3.2 GHz (16 multipliers) rather than 2.39 GHz (12 multipliers). Even so, while 2.39 seems low to me (my 2.67 Celeron D barely gets it done), StevOz's single-core Sempron does the job at only 1.8 GHz, so processor speed isn't everything. Also, your L2 Cache of 2MB is beefy compared to most.

Your system RAM of 512MB could be increased to the mobo's max of 2GB and that would help a lot (for a price, of course), and your GPU speed of 400MHz, while not a lot, is faster than what I squeak by with. Your biggest limitation, I think, is your graphics' shared memory; a 224MB 'care package' from system RAM is nowhere the desired 896MB or 1GB on a discrete card, so now for the Card.

Available specs are again confusing; I couldn't nail down exactly which PCI-E connector your mobo has (1.0? 2.0? x1? x16 or something else?) A PCI-E 2.0x16 interface passes a bandwidth of about 8GB/Second while a 1.0x16 delivers half of that.....and a basic 1.0 (x1) is only 250MB! While the connectors may be backward-compatible with earlier cards (but don't take that to Vegas; I could be wrong), the opposite is not the case; if a nice-enough card won't fit the mobo, then the price of the project goes up. think.gif

Thanks for the great advice.  I have a great little netbook and it does pretty good with most of these pins. 

Onboard Graphics aren't the best but for the most part do a decent job. :tup:
