I'm getting the silverball mania backglass done on llike the bottom 2/3 of my back, and my shoulders will be dedicated to pinbot. I'll post some pics when I get a little more of the color finished.

Just want to thank unclewilly for his Gorgar table.

I have a nonworking Gorgar sitting and collecting dust in a storage shed.
My quest was to play it again, even if only on a computer. That quest led me here.

Not being much of a gamer, or even the least bit tech savvy, I was still able to follow
directions well enough to install Visual Pinball.

So far I have downloaded Addams Family, Twilight Zone, Black Rose, (and a couple of
other old favorites) but sketchy game play has made them all unplayable. All of them
except Gorgar. Gorgar runs flawlessly.

I will continue to cross my fingers with each download, but if ultimately nothing else
runs worth a damn on my crappy little machine..

6GB DDR3 1333 RAM
AMD Phenom II X6 1065T Six Core
ATI Radeon HD 4250 Graphics
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Gorgar alone was worth my $10.

Dude, get that Gorgar fixed or sell it to somebody else who wants to work with it. Does no good sitting in storage & will only get more effed up that way as time goes on. I'd love to work on restoring a Gorgar, seems like it could make for a good project. I've already brought a Flash back from the dead from that era.

You have the latest Addams & TZ? Hmm, I find those to be among the more realistic recreations out there, so if that doesn't do it for you I'm not sure what will. You can try UW's CFTBL that I recently gave some updates (mod) to. If that isn't to your liking either, then I don't know.
Hey, is your issue just poor performance? Maybe that is what you are talking about? Like are you experiencing lots of ball stutter? If so, this isn't the fault of the games, but VP itself & your hardware struggling to keep up. Also, 4xxx ATI cards are infamous for giving people problems in VP. See if re-ordering helps. Also hardware rendering could make a huge difference, most likely on. & by default it is off, so that right there could improve things for you I suppose. What CPU speed is your AMD? Many of us here like to run at least 3ghz on the CPU. Newer VP tables can be pretty demanding there.
It is also recommended to have at least 1gb VRAM on your GPU, but at least 768mb & certainly no less than 512mb.

Yeah, I feel bad about it rotting away. I would have sold it cheap,
but would like to have it fixed at some point.

Yes, poor performance is the issue. Lots of stutter ect. Hardware rendering only
made things worse. I'm sure the problem is with my computer. It isnt a gaming system.
I think I would probably benefit from a good graphics card.

Turn the alpha slider left in video preferences. That can help a lot. It helps plastic ramps look better, but it really isn't too much of a loss if you need to crank it down. Maybe slide it all the way left, & if things are good maybe you can get it back up to halfway before stuttering happens again.
The reason I asked about the $10 is because some people do pay for VP on ebay, which of course is a scam & illegal. So I wasn't sure if that was what you meant.
If hardware rendering makes things worse, then you do need a serious upgrade. I'm actually selling a nice gaming rig that runs VP great if you are interested. Pretty cheap too considering what you get. I'm also selling 2 graphics cards that are barely used & both run VP great. A HD5870 and a GTX 580. The HD5870 is both cheaper & actually runs VP a little better. GTX is a little better for other newer 3D games tho.

Make sure that "reorder" is checked in the editor. This might help for ATI graphic cards.
Limit the image size to 1024.
Try 16 bits instead of 32.
Do not forget to save & close VP after each change.
