.....memory lapse....gotta check something.....

I'm back. Hello, BibleTalker:

When I first read your post, I thought, my adjustment has only three notches; I was thinking of the Image Setting slider in the NVidia Control Panel. If we assign num- bers (0 to 5) to the Hardware Acceleration notches, then your current setting would be 3; mine is maxed at 5, since multiple suggesters have said I should check for that. (The three Image Settings I mentioned are Performance, Balanced, and Quality....overridden, however, by clicking on 'Let the 3D Application Decide')

Unstated: did you increase to 3, or decrease? Depends on what problem you were having, of course. I've never really looked into the fine print under the H.A. settings ('Use this setting' to fix suchandsuch of a problem); now I've got experiments I can conduct. Thank you.

I get the same error message UNLESS I load the Sci-Fi classic table first. I don't know why I have to do this, but after that I can load any table fine.... Although some tables require that I have to uncheck "load table image into editor".

Weird... think.gif

Turn hardware acceleration to halfway, this got rid of it for me. As for your hardware being old... my IBM Thinkpad can run some FP without the error, and it has 16 mb of video memory and ATI Radeon 7500. Not great mind you, but it does start and run even 3 angels starts and runs- albeit very slowly.
