Noooooooo, I want to play your spy vs spy table right now biggrin.gif

Hehe! I am glad that you are anticipating its release. Thanks very much for this software man! I am just going to see if I can download/make some nice cannon models for my cannons... That's all I need for now... and maybe some new Spy houses. smile.gif

Well it is BIG.

It will be fun.

It's not what I was hoping for, But it will help keep FP going. And as long as FP is going, it will SURLY get what I am hoping for eventually.

I'm not even convinced yet that it needs the physics overhaul I desire. It might just need settings beyond
'soft, medium, or hard(elasticity)',
or slow, medium, or fast',
or 'shallowest, shallower, or shallow (slope)'
Etc. Etc. Etc.

I just tried importing my first model. The model looks great in the editor, and it seems to import into FP.

When I pick the model in FP, I get the circle and cross symbol on my table. It also has no values for Width, length, and Height and Tris (in the import model section). Any idea what I am doing wrong?

EDIT: I was able to get it to work by loading up a previos model and changing it to mine. It didn't work a s a NEW model. Any idea why?

In such case, please send me both models (working and not working) at fprelease AT free.fr, so I can analyse why

This is cool. Thanks guys. I also hope Black sees this as it is intended to be - a fully external model editor for Future Pinball with no direct hacking or ill will intended.

Does anyone know of a good site to download free milkshape models? $180 for an airplane? I have to learn how to model! smile.gif

Edit: OOOh.. I just realized that you can use Milkshape to import many different types of models. Royalty free 3D model search!

Great announcement. Way to go for all the teamwork involved. FP with custom toys is a treat Steve has been spoiling us with for awhile. Now others can get in on the act too.

So, I spent some time with Milkshape yesterday, only to discover that I am worse at 3D modeling than I am at drawing a 2D stick-man. smile.gif

I don't think that modeling is something that can be learned. It takes artistic talent.

I've been playing around with this myself and it's certainly challenging. I've never tried 3D modelling before and this is going to take time to learn I think. I tried to cheat and bring in an existing 3D model (there are thousands on the net) but the polygon count is way too high for FP. Still, I'm always up for a challenge and this will be my biggest yet.

If you want to try importing the car model in my Youtube video above, here it is...

It is a nice looking model for 2002. smile.gif

TIPS: you can crush the polygon count in MilkShape with Tools > Direct X mesh tool

Keep the tips coming!

I can never seem to make a new model. I always have to open up the sample 'peg' and then import my model to it.

TIPS: Don't fly too high, start by modding simple object by stretching the node in Milkshape
try deforming Peg, ornament, light. You will be doing this super hotRod in no time.

Remember when you first try your hand at FP...you can do it.

That does'nt really explain why we can't make a new model.
Are we completely missing something here?
