There are many tables that start with "The". When you are trying to find The Addams Family table, I think most people would attempt to find it under the "A's" of the list at the links below.  It is actually listed under "T" along with many other tables.   A long-standing Library Cataloging convention requires sorting titles that ignore leading articles like "the," "a," or "an" (known as initial articles). It prevents massive, unmanageable clusters under "T" and "A," making it much faster to search for items by their actual subject.  When the site is creating these lists, I suggest ignoring any titles that start with "The". I have not found any titles that start with "a," or "an" but it wouldn't hurt to include them in the coding in case someone submits one that way.

Maybe a table post could have a "Sort By" entry.

For example...

Title: The Adams Family

Sort by: Adams Family, The

I know some authors put their name in the Title field and their tables all get sorted together which makes them hard to find.

I got an idea from iTunes about how this could be implemented.  We could auto-populate the "Sort By" field like you say:

Sort by: Adams Family, The

...But make it so the field could be edited like the example below.

Sort by: GhostBusters Slimer Back Glass Mod, JP’s

Having "the," "a," and "an" set up to be auto-populated would prevent undesirable entries which will undoubtedly happen if the field has to be manually entered.  Having the ability to edit it would allow JP to edit the entry like the example above.

They are getting better and better all the time, especially with AI.

I don't think they'll ever 100% be gotten away with, sadly.

I forgot to mention that the title of the table should just transfer to the "Sort by" field if the title does not start with "the," "a," or "an" then JP could edit the "Sort by" field to "GhostBusters Slimer Back Glass Mod, JP’s".
