I know about the attract mode not existing at that time, and that the flippers kept moving at game over, since the table didn't have a game over. The table stopped working because there were no more balls to eject, and that was game over. But to make it easy on the younger players I added a kind of game over, without a game over light :)

The chimes, or better said, bells,  were recorded by Mister Transistor for his own table, so they are right :)

I don't know why VPX8 crashes on your system, but remember to update all the dll files and the scripts.

Also on the real early games of the day the flippers were always active- even at Game Over. I don't know what year this stopped though.

The year they realized that kids and immature adults, with no money to spend, were burning up their flipper solenoids left and right.

As for your VPX crashing, post crash error and VpinballX log files to github.
Include full hardware specs and driver versions where pertinent.

Make sure video drivers, directX 9.0c and all your Visual C++ runtimes are up to date.

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Spend it on Hookers and Blow

The ball trough isn't big enough to hold 5 balls.   :P

Yeah, that one messed me up too!  I had to look at actual videos of other games like Humpty Dumpty and Lady Robin Hood to make sure that was the case.  Plus, I had given JP very precise pictures of the table, with measurements and everything, so I figured if it came out only holding 4 balls, that's the exact size of the original table, so it must be right!

Thanks JP, it just didn't sound right but I'll take your word for it.

I did overwrite the files. I reverted for the time being. I have 1442 table on my cab so I don't want to do anything too drastic. I'll work on it tonight and post the crash info.

I smell a modified AC/DC table coming out...

Thanks again to Mister Transistor and JP!!

According to Wikipedia...which is never wrong

Game Over...the phrase was used as early as 1950 in devices such as electro-mechanical pinball machines, which would light up the phrase with a lamp (lightbulb).

Well, this game is pre-1950's so that checks out, at least in this case!

Games like this had no sensor to tell when balls hit the bottom outlane.  In the emulated games it's easy to tell when the ball "crosses a line" to determine end-of-ball status, but not in the real games.

Later games in the 1950's that still collected balls at the bottom used some switch sensors to count as the balls collected under the table in the metal trough.  This older game had a wooden trough and that had no sensor switches on it.
