You need to cut the B.S. You would never give Bigus1 permission. We all know he has a reputation.
You need to read the post Hero!
"I dont recall you ever reaching out about BOP but to be fair, I have not been very active around here since 2020 or so. Had I seen you had reached out, I would have said "have at it" assuming it was not some no-value-add lighting/physics revision like you are so famous for. However, I would even have suggested some things that the table could have certainly used, and supported you."
"Now with all of this said, I will offer you some advice. Consider taking a table with the authors permission and plan on making substantial improvements that will elevate it well above its current state. I will guarantee that the author will have absolutely have no objections to this. Take my FH table and do it, and I will be the first to applaud you. In fact, the scaling of the playfield is a bit off. You might consider scaling the PF to actual size and re-positioning everything accordingly. If you were to do something like that, again, I would be the first to applaud you. Now that would be a real makeover with some significant value add that goes beyond a lighting and physics tweak."
I explained here the proper way to ask permission ACCORDING to the site rules, and have basically said I would be fine with him doing it as well. But, I would request that some real value-add (major changes again according to the rules) be included. I even said I would tell him what it really needs, such as a re-scaling the PF image.
The rules for asking permission is crystal clear but a clear definition on what requirements you need to meet in order to be considered as major changes / real value of work does not exist. I've checked the rules and it is extremely vague at best. What we are getting is subjective opinions on where that threshold is.
