God, the artwork on this table is superb.

And yeah, I'm waiting for the 4/3 as well.

I am curious if anyone has been able to raise the volume of the background music in this table? All of the other sounds are good, and even the rom sound 'effects' seem loud, it is just the music at a very soft level.

yeah same problem here when I just tried it again, Im sure I got it working a few weeks ago though with louder music. Cant seem to open the coin door.

Edit: Problem is explained on the previous page, so maybe I never did get the music to play louder.

Is a Data East, and at least, my GNR pinball has a knob to increase the volume, as my Star Wars, so I I think that poto has a Knob, so the sound is not reachable trough the DMD menu, as williams/bally and Stern.

Is that what you were reffering to? I don't really understand what he is saying? (I hope there is a fix)

I think I remember this being discussed at the HP forum.. I'll check there.

yep... sounds like the soundboard/midi-board had some sort of analog volume controller (a knob that you turn) to adjust the music volume rather than a digital control via the DMD menu.

anyone know how to add a .wav or .mp3 file to a table? so it can play in the background? at least with phantom of the opera we could add music from such a good soundtrack....totally better than nothing i think.

Fantastic work -- this is a great looking table!

Can anyone help me figure out how to rotate the DMD? I'm changing the ror (or rol) value in the script but it doesn't have any effect. Also, anyone know where I can find a good backglass image (static). The one in a previous link doesn't seem to work anymore.

Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone has found, oir if there was a fix for the music issue on this table. One of my favourites. I wish I could hear the music abit louder, the sound FX are fine. otherwise an awesome table.

As far as I know there is no fix for this, and nobody has tried to extract the audio from the rom. I too love this table and wish there was a easy fix for it.

Sorry, but there is no way to adjust the rom volume for this table. Since this table IRL (and those of the same vintage) used analog controls inside the cabinet or backbox of the machine to adjust the volume, these controls have not been emulated in VPM.

No one as far as I know have tried to extract the rom sounds and embed them into the table to make them louder.

Yeah, i think this is the only Data East game, that the volume is a real problem, the other DE tables around the time all seem to be ok, just this one is real quiet, a shame really as its such a great table. One think i have noticed though is some of the sound effects are really loud where others not so. I did actually extract all the music and SE from the rom before but didnt have a clue as to how to import them back in a the adjusted volumes??

Thanks to Russ_H, who found out that by clicking on the DMD/vpinmame window, press the tilde key(the one to the left of 1), then move down to MSM5205 and change the value to 40% and then down to VM2151 ch1 and ch2 and set to 100%., the music should now be louder!!! biggrin.gif

Great find Russ!!!
