Thanks for this table, JP.

I remember when it appeared at my local arcade back in the day I didn't like it. It was one of the first wide-body tables. But the design seemed strange, all that black in the foreground, that odd capture ball in the upper left. The table we had seemed to play very slowly, sluggish flippers, and the ball seemed to drain very quickly with the dual flippers.

But today, playing your beautiful table, I can't imagine why I didn't like it. It plays real well, with strong flippers like a VPX table should have, and that capture ball is most satisfying!

I started playing without fixing the outter flippers ... I'll do that later. But at least for a little while, it keeps me from draining the ball by having one of those flippers up at the wrong time.

The ROM from VPF here works, but VPinMAME says that it does not have the sound portion within it. I've tried the other ROMs that people suggested here, but they kept coming up as corrupted, even after deleting the nvram file. Better to play without sounds, I guess, than not at all.

Again, thanks for this beautiful table! Nice to revisit one of the tables from my old Arcade Days!

I know, someone should update all the roms in this site, but I haven't access to upload to the roms section (not that I want to :) ). Destruk used to do that before, I guess now it should be Toxie since he is involved in the vpinmame emulation, and Destruk is not so very active in the forum.

Here it is the rom I use (with the sound): Attached File  pkrno_l1.zip   4.86KB   48 downloads

Not sure about our rom's status but the one in the MAME repository does have sound

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Spend it on Hookers and Blow

I d/l and installed this latest version and only two of the four flippers function?

Only the bottom left/right flipper work - the other left/right just stay in the down position.

I guess you didn't read what I wrote. So scroll up and read what I wrote :) Then you may go to the script and change that variable if you want both flippers working at the same time using a single key :)

I did indeed! I thought maybe use the magna buttons for those or something...so I just switched it. Thank you!

Thanks again, JP, for the ROM. Even better to play this beautiful table with the sounds. Talk about a flashback!

The hard part is to stop playing it when I have work to do!  :otvclap:

Cheers!

Some ROMs are broken, if so - try the (most fixed) ROM from the VPU Page, there is also the latest directb2s available :)

No spinner sound. It's missing "fx_" at line 319.

All roll overs are playing "fx_spinner", but it should play "fx_sensor" ?

Cradle ball with the upper flippers, ball keeps on jumping.

I have real staged flippers and it's usually nice but on this table it's crazy hard to play with that.

It's a mod and should be off in the script by default.

Nice if you could add an optional image on top the playfield.

To give an 16:9 ratio for portrait/cabinet mode for this super wide table.

Perhaps a Williams logo or just a red image to match the cab sides.

This table plays really fast but I kinda like it  :stunned:

UPDATE

5.5.1 Updated 25.01.2025
- Fixed missing sound on the spinner and lanes. Thanks ketayeyen for the info.
- Fixed staged flippers. Now they are off by default, and if you want them then just turn on the variable StagedFlipperMod = 1 at the beginning of the script.
- Fixed the ball bouncing on the flippers.
- Removed the old fading lights routine.
- Changed the backdrop letters to lights (game over, tilt, etc.)
- Fixed the environment image, which was not active.
- Adjusted the plunger, just the visuals
- Reduced the flipper reflections. It was more visible in cabinet mode (FS).

There are always things to fix or improve in all the tables. I guess I could spend a few years making improvements to all my tables, but I won't do that. But if any table needs some fixing then I use the opportunity to make some more extra fixes :)

@kentayeyen: I read your post about adding a picture for the cabinet mode, but I had already uploaded the table :( Anyway, some people like it with a black band others with some color. What you can do is to change the backdrop color, to a dark red.
