Ok, I have more information that is in

I just downloaded the latest pinmame x64 and still same issue.

The latest being v3.5 full release or the v3.6 beta? (you need a 3.6 beta from sometime in the last year or so to work with Pinsound in x64)

I tried running from the test option in Vpinmame and it does not recognize the rom when PinSound is running, but once PinSound is turned off the rom is then recognized.

I just tried with the latest x64 3.6 beta and it appears to work, but weirdly pinsound studio needs to be run as admin now (i'm on a different pc & windows version since last testing that). So if you already have pinmame x64 3.6 beta installed then try running pinsound as admin as well.

I have x64 3.6 installed and ran as admin but still saying "unsupported pinball sound system" when I run from either 10.8 x64 directly or through pinmame test. However, when I run it through pinmame x32 test the sounds package works with no issues, but when I try to go through vpx 32bits the table loads, but the pinsound does not initiate the package. I tried to run all as admin and not as admin. Is there a way to run 10.8 32bits and have pinsound comeup? I would prefer 64bits but i cannot get any table to load becuase of the sound not being recognized. I feel like I'm getting close, and really do apreciate your help.

Maybe try in Vpinmame Rom settings the "sound mode" 2
(0 is Rom sound, 1 is altsound, 2 is "alternative" altsound)

What rom, sound package and pinsound studio version are you using? The unsupported pinball sound system is an error that occurred with older version of Pinsound studio when trying to use Data East roms.

(just paste the full log from the pinsound window when the error occurs, that has all the info)

I'm having this issue on PinSound Studio 18.8.3.  I'm all 64-bit with my setup and all Bally/Williams pins work perfectly with altsound=2.  However, if I attempt the same process with Data East / Sega / Stern games then I get the "unsupported pinball sound system" error in PinSound Studio.

What version of PinSound Studio do you use that works with the DE/Sega/Stern tables?

Damn, you're right.. i run a mixed setup (32/64) so hadn't noticed DE roms had issues with Pinsound in x64.

This was the answer - thank you!  I set VPX x86 as alternate launcher for the DE/Stern/Sega tables where I want to use PinSound orchestrations, and after setting altsound=2 they work perfectly!

Correct, the answer is Bally/Williams tables work in 64. All others must be in 32.

I have a ticket open with VPinmame to let them know, not sure that will be addressed for future releases but fingers crossed as most new tables are going 64.

I also communicated with Nicolas at PinSound.  At this point there is no plan to integrate VP support into the newer PinSound Studio Pro software.

Only neccesary when you run for first time the table.

Then you can use VPXGL 64 bits , no problem starting scripts freezing.

Pinsound it`s the best for sound...

Austin powers, indiana jones pinball adventure, attack from mars, addams family, so many tables i like to use pinsound a lot

The first part of your comment is incorrect. (I do wholeheartedly  agree with the second part that Pinsound rocks)

I tried all suggestions in this thread to have Pinsound working for Data East tables (e.g Lethal Weapon 3)  in VPX 10.8 X64 (RC3 GL in my case) and come to following conclusions:

- Setting Vpinmame (x64) to run in Administrator Mode: Does not work

- running the 32 bit VPX 10.8  does work. But the suggested opening in 32 bit for the first launch and then switching to  X64 does not. You have to remain playing the table in 32 bit VPX.

So my final solution is to have a 32 bit  Vpinball executable next to the normal  64 VPinball executable just for these tables to have Pinsound working. In Pinup Popper I have set up the 32 bit VPX as "Alternate Launcher" for all the Data East/Sega tables that use Pinsound in "Game Manager".

Yes I have found several tables you will need 32 bits vpx VERSION.

Otherwise the table gets freezed launching scripts (or testing rom in vpinmame 64 bit).

Batman forever, baywatch etc..

If you are using pinsound and mode 2 you will need to use the 32 bit.

P.D. Some tables i need pinsound and mode 2 (batman forever, addams, indiana jones) really sounds perfect to me

CORRECT

I'm trying to run pinsound.. and I think I did the connection right between it and vpinmame. The problem is that the sound samples are being called, but every track is called late for about a second and I don't know how to fix it..
