I seem to be having colorization problems with FX3 Jurassic Park, for some reason the light yellow dots are also bright yellow drowning out the detail. Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it.

I'm trying to position the 7 segment displays over the B2S scoring/credit/BIP displays for a more realistic look. Is there a way to independently scale W and H? From what I read, the answer is "no" ...

 

"Note that there is no width parameter, because the width is calculated based on the height and the number of characters of the display. This makes it easy to apply the same height to all displays of a game by editing the .ini, something you might consider doing instead of fiddling with the mouse."

 

Is there something I can add to the .ini to adjust/override? Either a width variable, or a W to H ratio. 

 

(My BG art is stretched to fit my 16:9 TV which stretches my scoring display area.)

No, the alpha numerics ratio is fixed, unless you want to download the source and custom compile it

 

Easier to edit the B2S and remove the displays from it

nope not missing anything

 

Easier to open b2s designer and click import, and pick the directb2s file

then click button to show reels and LEDs

then just remove them from the backglass, then click in top menu, backglass and create backglass

then in designers projects folder you will find your new backglass file

devoid in inbaked displays
then you can at least fit your alpha numerics in with no other LED peeking out from behind it

 

If you wanted to get really fancy, you could export the backglass image
modify it, then reimport it.
Sometimes people like to adjust them to fit a much larger set of alpha numerics

thanks. I've sent the code link to my son to look at, he loves a good programming challenge even though C# isn't his forte. I'm hoping for a simple "Lock Aspect Ratio" check box, and if unchecked it opens W&H dim fields or an aspect ratio field.  (And if I'm dreaming, an apply to all check box.)

He may be busy and not able to answer for a bit
but

what do you mean is there a way to run 7 segment test?

 

If you open the vpinmame folder, run setup.exe

click test

You can set up and run any ROM you happen to have

 

Run one with 7 segment LEDs etc?

He only needs VpinMAME to do that, does not need VPX if he wont be actually trying to play a table

I'm not sure how to turn off the alpha numeric windows from appearing on the playfield. I tried to drag them to the backglass for a few tables such as Diner and Taxi..ones that would really benefit from it.  but the positions didn't save consistently. and sometimes my pindmd3 shut off or i couldn't keep focus on the playfield.  I think they look nice but I can't figure it out right now and would like to go back to the way things were. I tried putting the old dmddevice.ini back in but actually i have 2.  One is in the dmdext directory.

hit F1 with table running but NOT in exclusive fullscreen mode

now uncheck show DMD

check use external DLL

 

click OK

 

Now if you have dmddevice.ini set correctly, there should be no floating DMD window on any screen
it will only be sent to the pinDMD

 

Keep in mind, Alphanumeric segmented LED displays are not and never were intended to be shown on a DMD display
They may not always look right, fit right display right etc

 

In general, pinball machines that used them, displayed them up on the backglass.

 

I dont have diner or taxi so not sure what either of those looks like

 

Also, you should have only 1 dmddevice.ini on the PC
it should be in visual pinball\vpinmame as should the rest of the files for freezy's DMD Extentions

which should be version 1.9

 

make sure you have no other dmddevice files in other locations or it can cause problems

Is it possible to run freezy and [Pin2DMD uses stolen and/or infringes IP. PinDMD is the genuine product ;) ] at the same time?

I have been banging my head against the wall trying to install this.  I copy the files from the zip x86 after making sure that the files aren't blocked. I plug them into the Vpinmame directory.  Open setup and make sure the use external DMD.  Open attack from mars, and I only have the one old display.  I type DMDEXT TEST -d in the command window and my windows don't pop up.  I just finished building a cab over Christmas break and have vpx working perfectly with pinball Y.  I went over to the nailbiter forum and was following his directions to get pinup player and i haven't got the freezy to work yet.  It seems SO user friendly, and it's killing me I can't figure this out.  Windows 10 system

If you already ran the game then you need to run the game hit F1 and make the change in there

Try running the 32 bit pinmame 'setup.exe' file, then click on the 'Setup Defaults' box and make sure that 'Use external DMD; is checked.  Then click on 'OK'.  Then as a good measure, you can verify your paths there as well, then click install to register the COM object.

 

Next, open up regedit and remove the entries for your ROM's under \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Freeware\Visual PinMame

 

This will clear out the old settings and set the new default of external DMD that you selected in the pinmame setup on every new table you run.

I did use Nailbuster's 'Baller Installer' for my initial cab setup, but I believe your Freezy upgrade should be just like when I upgraded mine.
