DOFLinx / FX3 help please

Here's a couple more things I tried:

  • Booted Win10
  • Removed DOFLinx from Startup (removed everything from Startup)
  • Used Task Manager to End Task DOFLinx
  • Deleted DOFLinx Registry
  • Rebooted Win10
  • Confirmed DOFLinx registry does not exist
  • Executed DOFLinx
  • Can see DOFLinx Window with ALT-Tab
  • Viewed Registry, no DOFLinx tree
  • Saved DOFLinx Log

 

  • Rebooted Win10
  • System generated DOFLinx registry entry,  Main_Y=0
  • Executed DOFLinx
  • Can see DOFLinx Window with ALT-Tab, but still doesn't appear on desktop
  • Used Task Manager to End Task DOFLinx
  • Confirmed DOFLinx registry entry still set to Main_Y=0
  • Cleared and closed Log file

 

  • Rebooted Win10
  • Set DOFLinx registry entries,  Main_X=400, Main_Y=400   (Trying to force it to display in middle of Playfield)
  • Executed DOFLinx
  • Can see DOFLinx Window with ALT-Tab, but still doesn't appear on desktop
  • Used Task Manager to End Task DOFLinx
  • Confirmed DOFLinx registry entry still set to Main_X=400, Main_Y=400

 

I also did a couple Google searches, but it looked like solutions we already tried. (one was Outhere had same issue)

Do you have DEBUG=1 in your DOFLinx.INI file to make the window visible?

 

Can you post that DOFLinx.LOG from above that you mentioned?

Yes, Debug=1.  I'm open to any suggestions. Very frustrating. I can see it with ALT-Tab, but can't click it to open the window.

And it did work when I started this a couple weeks ago, but inexplicably stopped working.

I also tried setting X and Y to 400 to force it to the Playfield (Main Screen).

OK, so the LOG is telling the story.  You can see that DEBUG is being enabled twice, the first time with the showing of the window (ie DEBUG=1) and the second time immediately after without showing of the window (DEBUG=2)

Are you running a supplementary INI somewhere?

 

You should be able to make DOFLinx visible with "DOFLinxMsg DEBUG=1", then sort out what is running to send it a DEBUG=2 command.

Not intentionally running another INI.

I was wondering why it was showing True, then False (?)

 

I'll try the  "DOFLinxMsg DEBUG=1".  Just execute it as a CMD?

How do I determine what is sending Debug=2?  would it be in the EXE(?)

DDH69, you nailed it!

I went back and used the oldest version of the ini that I could find and it WORKED!!

Somewhere along the way I copied (or cut) Debug=2 down further in the DOFLinx.ini. (it wasn't intentional)

 

 

SO, I have a DOFLinx window showing and I can execute the DOFLinx tests.

 

As far as the speaker grills, I also discovered they are only appearing on the Bally/Williams BGs. The Zen BGs look great.

I tried the B2S Test, but it pulls up the first table (Aliens) and the speaker grills are not there, but how do I remove them for the Bally / Williams tables.

 

And again, THANKS for your patience & understanding.  And also THANKS for the Animated BGs, they look great!

I cannot get the pup packs to work with FX3, I have tried animated back glasses as well neither work below is the debug file

I now have 1 pup pack working for fx3 alien vs predator, but none of the others load or even come up like this one.  I have SSF in some tables like Jurassic world but not in others. I still must have a lot wrong to have only one table with pup pack running

I am still struggling to get my controller working in fx3 through doflinx, below is my doflinx.ini file  everytime I uncomment the flippers i break doflinx and it gives me an error code.  I have been trying to get SSF and my flippers/plungr to work in FX3 for over a month and beyond frustrated.  I have had my cab since 2015 and neve had so many problems getting something to work.  I have Virtuapin controller and 4 exciter speakers with a 4 monitor setup

I already have the Terry Redd pup packs, they do not work on my cabinet.  I have been trying to make them work but they do not, besides without flippers and a plunger I can't play FX3.  I followed his video and still nothing works.  I followed Nailbuster's video on the dmd in FX3 that does work, but again i have no flippers or plunger to play the games on my cab.  I need to get my controller working with doflinx and then I will try thee puppacks again.

I already have the Terry Redd pup packs, they do not work on my cabinet.  I have been trying to make them work but they do not, besides without flippers and a plunger I can't play FX3.  I followed his video and still nothing works.  I followed Nailbuster's video on the dmd in FX3 that does work, but again i have no flippers or plunger to play the games on my cab.  I need to get my controller working with doflinx and then I will try thee puppacks again.

 

Start the DOFLinx and the window that opens right click it and do a test to make sure you are working with the right device

ok I did right mouse click and my plunger works I can see the number changing when i pull back the plunger.  The buttons only show up when i test game pad.

Where can i  read or see how flippers are setup in Doflinx.  The sample files that are in the doflinx install do not work for my controller as they are.  So i need to understand the programing I need to get my buttons/plunger to work when FX3 is launched
