First post on these forums. Let me start by saying thank-you to everyone involved. VP is amazing now! It's come a long way since I first tried getting it to work and I'm floored by how well it now runs.
I'm a bit of a VR vet. Started with a DK2, then Vive, Quest, and now also own an Index.
At this very moment, Index is my favorite way to play Visual pinball. Between the 120hz and amazing speakers, it just feels incredibly real. I've been a bit of a critic with the Index. I get awful glare with the double lens system and for many things, preferred using the OLED based Oculus Quest for VR. Between OLED and the preferable lens, I just liked that combo better. But for Visual Pinball, Index is far and away my favorite. The speakers are the Index's best feature. It's uncanny how everything sounds real and like it's happening right in that room. There's also very little sound leakage. So the sound isn't audible to those outside it. Just a genius design in that area.
But since I'm a huge critic of the lens and huge fan of the speakers, I do suspect I'd prefer the Reverb G2 for VP. I'm not going to spend any more money in that area, but I do think it's going to be amazing. As much as I like 120hz, I'd trade for 90hz if it meant I didn't have the glare.
I've got an Amazon order for the Quest 2. Supposed to be arriving on launch day. Unfortunately, I'm getting insta-locked on any Facebook account I create in anticipation. So unless Facebook changes policies and auto-approves accounts to any Oculus user, I'm not going to be able to use it. Or post any impressions on it.
