I'm new to this (today) and am trying to fine tune the graphics settings.  What are the settings "VR Near Plane" and "VR Far Plane" for?

I have a Samsung Odyssey original and can't wait to get the coming Reverb2, but will have to settle for this for now.

Some tables are rather dark (I'm used to LED's and Pinstadium lighting).  Is there a way to brighten certain tables up?

Set the VR Far plane to like 50,000.  This will allow you to see further in rooms that require it.  To brighten up a table/room, when you first load up the table, in the options on the right side, under lighting..  turn up the slider a bit...  Although I'm not sure why it's dark.   HAVE FUN!

50,000 ? Really ? or is 5000 and a mistype ? Trying to get mine setup and a video or two said 5000 but just like to make sure.

Thanks.

Some rooms like Flupper's Tales Of The Arabian Nights might require a little extra but I found 20,0000 is a good setting for all tables, set it and forget it :)

OKay will give it a try. Exactly what does the near and far plane do in simpleton terms and analogy.

The near and the far plane are both parallel to your monitor and anything between them is visible. The values are the distance from the camera to each plane. Anything in front of the near plane or behind the far plane is cut away. The downside of moving the farplane to near to the camera is that Z-fighting can occur. That means, that parts of an object behind another object might be rendered in front of it. Depending on the Z-Buffer precision also moving the far plane too far away can cause this, but with modern graphic cards this should be no longer a big issue.

So simply set the far plane to a bigger value if something far far away looks cut off.

And set the near plane to a value lower than the shortest distance between your head and the pinball table. If you start to see flickering on objects increase the nearplane again.
