It's odd that Capcom won't give pinball owners the time of day and fix a rom...seems to me that it's a pretty simple coding error that needs to be ironed out.

They haven't existed since 1996, i dont think they will be fixing many ROMs anytime soon.

There are very few major pinball manufacturers left.

Stern is the only big player remaining

There are very few minor manufacturers

Chicago Gaming, who mostly does licensed reproductions of WIlliams/Bally machines
But they are supposed to be doing an original themed on Pulp Fiction

They are also a large pinball parts manufacture, which is probably most of their business.

Jersey Jack
Spooky Pinball
American Pinball
Multimorphic
Those are all what i would call limited production.
They come up with an idea, build a limited amount, and that is it, done.
When the next one comes? Hard to say, but it will also be very limited run.

Dutch Pinball
Pinball Brothers
Homepin out of Taiwan, they have poor quality though

Haggis Pinball

Pedretti Gaming

Pinball Adventures

Quetzall Pinball

Bitronic

Play Mechanix

Raw Thrills

Turner Pinball

TiltBob Pinball

HEXA Pinball

These are all little boutique shops
Very limited production of custom machines, very localized
If you dont live there, you probably cant see one.
Most have not been around very long, no idea if they are sustainable.

Stern's revenue was only about 23 million US dollars
That is a major drop from what they once cranked out if you adjust for inflation.
They once occupied 3 buildings cranking out pinball machines, now they occupy a single building.
And they dwarf everyone else currently in the business.

Everyone else is gone.

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Spend it on Hookers and Blow

Yes all fixed :)  It's the ball traps fix that I mentioned. The table plays quite differently now.

Oh! Real quick...this has nagged at me a long time: i don't think it's the fault of your table but the ROM for Kingpin seems to have long delays on table triggers.

<snip>

This is a notorious Capcom thing. My Pinball Magic has the same long delay when the ball locks in the trunk. Annoying as hell IRL.

Capcom's pinball assets were picked up by Gene Cunningham (rip) of Illinois Pin Ball (defunct) who remade Big Bang Bar. He did have grand plans to remake Kingpin as well as have some rom updates done. Unfortunately that hill was too big to climb and he passed away a few years later. IIRC the delay in switch registers was introduced to account for flaky overdriven opto switches.
