I thought these new slim bezel TV's were dependent on that bezel for structural integrity?

Jumping in as I just picked up a 70's standard body cab. Is motion rate not as important as input lag? I read on a post a few year old 2 guys were discussing using 3d TV's, not for the 3d featured but because they had 240hz refresh rate. As im poking around the forum here I see mostly 60hz and some 120hz Tv's being discussed. Is motion rate not as important as I thought?

Following. I have the Seiki 4K 39" but running at 1080 at 120 fps (30 fps at 4K just doesn't cut it). Will soon be trying to get a 40" 4K Samsung to fit, but will have to remove the bezel (which I did on the Seiki). If anyone does de-bezel the Samsung, post photos of what you do. If not, I will document the process.

Do you guys think there is any possibility, we might see an OLED 43" TV? That would be perfect for Standard caps.
I wish! But, I don't see anyone making a QLED or OLED tv less than 55" in size.
How I built my B2S Pinball Cabinet, step-by-step, with pictures! Full-sized cabinet for ~$700. Believe me, if I can do it, so can you!

I went ahead and routed my standard cabinet to fit the Samsung TV in... I did it outside my house and taped plastic over all the electronics installed at the bottom (I did not want to disassemble everything). I removed something like 7mm on each side and it worked pretty well. The pic below is before finishing with sandpaper.
I can confirm even without decasing, this TV warps if you support it only on its sides. For me it rests on a well aerated piece of plywood so I'm fine.

Thanks! I jumped on this deal. I was waiting around to see if new models would be announced at CES, but it seems like Samsung is not saying anything about 2019 until Spring. No announcements then no imminent clearance deals on the 2018 model. It's used but it is also $100 less than I've ever seen this quoted retail, and the street cost did go up a little over the holidays. If it doesn't work out it will be easy enough to return. For anyone else, there are still 10 units left on this deal, so it isn't like I took the last one!

I got mine "refurbished" for $243 from Walmart with delivery at my local store.

the cardboard box had been open and was taped, but the TV inside looked new to me... protective plastic all over the TV and so on... no problem with it.

Can any of this TV's owner share the picture adjustment settings they're using ? (backlight, brightness...). I find the black aprons a bit too grey on my screen, but if I lower the backlight too much, then the table becomes quite dark (as an example on Firepower table). Thanks!

Stock response is that settings from one unit even of the same model does not necessarily transfer to another unit because of variations in the manufacturing process through the run of the product, differences in viewing environment, etc. Another person's settings might improve your picture quality or it may not.
Get a calibration disc and learn how to do your own calibration. This one is free:
https://www.avsforum...alibration.html
The disc has all the test patterns needed to do a high quality calibration with a colorimeter and appropriate software. I have a relatively inexpensive consumer colorimeter and have done some fine tuning on my living room TV. Having the right equipment does the best job. My stuff is getting pretty old; built-in filters do degrade over time. Pro level equipment has to be lab certified periodically. It's not cheap even when you are trying hard to do it cheaply. And it takes a lot of time. There were dozens of different settings to tweak on my living room TV and they may have interactions with other settings. The goal is to reach a happy medium among all the settings. But you can get some level of improvement without a meter if you just obtain a cheap blue filter for adjusting tint. With no equipment at all you can at least adjust brightness, contrast, and sharpness which is better than doing nothing at all.
My previous cab TV was a cheap Westinghouse that did not have menu access to all of these advanced settings. I have to say I did not miss doing a full calibration on it, and I was quite happy with the picture quality. Did not lessen my enjoyment at all.
I received a model NU7100 last week. I've done nothing at this point except make sure that all post-processing is disabled. My wife prefers the Picture Mode set to Standard setting. Otherwise, everything else is default. We're using it to watch TV in the bedroom until I'm ready to install in the cab. The living room TV is an older 3D-capable Samsung. I can tell you that it was easier to achieve calibration with the Picture Mode set to Movie for what that is worth.
Good luck.

I'm about to pull the trigger on this 4k TV model and was wondering if anyone has experienced any noticeable colour washout from the viewing angle?
This review site https://www.rtings.c.../samsung/nu7100 (which looks like a reasonable site) suggests it struggles beyond 25 degrees from centre. Wondering if there's any truth in this.
I haven't done the math, but I'd of thought a VP table would have need 35-45 degrees viewing angle for someone around 6" tall?
