Yeah, there are certain times that there are no ball rolling sounds. The ambient BG ocean/seagull sound does hide this a little.

yup...I checked it out again tonight and i never noticed the lack of rolling sounds for this very reason.

 

 

 

 

Has anyone worked out how to turn on the ball rolling sounds on this awesome game?

It might be that the samples are very low. A quick solution is to go to sample - delete all the sounds named fx_ballrollingX - then open Jaws Original table and export those samples and re-import them into this table. The Jaws samples has been juiced up quite a lot. You might, if you don't like it - just select them all, then press the Position button and use the volume slider to adjust them to the volume that suit you better.

Thanks Thalamus, problem solved.  This just brought Beach Bums to life, before this fix, it felt like the ball was floating on the playfield.  I have Surround Sound Force Feedback setup on my cabinet, so going through all my tables one by one fixing any minor sound issues.

 

This has been a huge help not just for Beach Bums, but for the other tables.

 

Now the work begins.

Hey, watacaractr, I want you to know that this is my wife's favorite table, and she's tried many of the tables on my cabinet. She even tried Hollywood Heat when I suggested it and didn't enjoy it at all. Beach Bums is the perfect theme for her. Really a fantastic re-imagining. You rock!

I missed the rolling ball sounds and imported some louder samples, all good now.
