Broken flag cleared.

whos the moron that hit the broken button??.... this works perfect like the rest of JP's tables....

Please try to be a bit more civil. Thank you.

Only one person that tag a file as broken and it appears like this for all the rest of us without a moderator or uploader approval or testing? Wow.

Yeah, the flag system has always sucked with this software. I don't even get notifications!

I'm not too invested in changing it now, as we're in the process of upgrading. ;)

you must be a much more tolerant person then me... who would hit that button before contacting the builder or ask questions in the support thread...

it should be a 5 step process when pushing that button....

first push:  have you ask questions on the support thread?
second push: have you contacted the builder?
third push: has anyone else mentioned your problem in the support thread?
fourth push: are you sure its not just you?
fifth push:  just to make sure your not retarded, we are sending a message to the builder to review....    hehehe  ;)

LOL!

I'm hopeful the next generation of the forum software is better in that area. I've always hated it.

JP, your tables are always a treat, but this one is my favorite from you in a long while. Plays so great. Such nicely chosen and implemented physical and mechanical sounds. Love it!

Honestly, there were a ton of tables marked as broken and no one even paid attention until that Pac Man debacle.  I wouldn't worry about it.

Hi.  I cannot get this table to work.  I can add coins by pressing either 3,4 or 5.  I hear the coins being added but that's as far as I get.  The table does not light when I add coins nor can I start a game by pressing the 1 key.

- no nvram is present in nvram folder

- verified that I have the correct rom sorcr_l2.zip in roms folder

- re-downloaded the table

- verified that the key assignments are correct

What else can I do to get this fine table working?

Thank you very much,

Jason

Quit the table and start it again, or simply press F3 to restart the rom. Some older tables need to initialize the rom first before you can play.

Thank you JP.  I tried as you suggested but still cannot start this table.  When the table loads, the bumpers flash for a brief second and that's it.  I waited a minute or two before trying to add coins but still cannot.  I hear the coins being added but that's as far as it gets.

Seems, that the playfield is not the active display. Do what Outhere posted.

Thanks guys but it's still not work, even after clicking on the playfield.  If everyone else can get this table to work and I cannot, clearly the issue is on my end somehow.  I will try to figure it out.  I hate wasting people's time.  Thanks again!

if you use alt-tab can you see maybe another window somewhere?  Maybe its waiting for a prompt on something.  Don't give up!

Thanks Loafer.  Still no go.  I tried pressing ALT+TAB but there are no dialog boxes or prompts.  I even tried playing the table from a brand new folder and got the same result.  Does anyone have an nvram file for this game that they can share to test that?  I've seen games stop working due to corrupted or missing nvram files.  I don't even get an nvram file created fro this table.

Thanks,

Jason

for the sake of trouble shooting, ensure “exclusive full screen” is DESELECTED, then try again.  Does it work now?

No sir, that option is not selected (no check in the box).  Still won't start a game.  I know, I'm not making this easy.  :)

Where do you have installed VP? In C:\Program Files? If so, then you do not have write rights to that path and the nvram file cannot be created. I guess this is not the case since you don't say if other tables work. But if none of the vpinmame tables work, then you'll need to gain write access to the folder, or move the VP folder to another place outside Program Files (Or program Files (x86) )

Thanks JP.  The VP install folder is on a D: drive:   D:\Pinball\VP    All other tables work fine except for this one.  All other tables create an NVRAM file.  I even delete all of the CFG files in the CFG folder but still nothing.

This is a couple of different threads that show lately related to nvram.  I wonder if there is a bug that's crept into VPM beta?  What version of VPM are you using jaws970?

I am using 10.7.0  I did download minimal versions of 10.6, 10.5 and 10.4 but I get the same result with those as well.  In fact, in 10.4 I get a message saying that the table was created using a newer version of VPX and I might get errors.  In any event, still not working

I downloaded the full install of VPX 10.6 and installed into a new directory but the table still does not work for me.

Okay, I found the issue:

Thanks to humid, he sent me his NVRAM file.  His NVRAM file is named sorcr_l1.  I compared file names and found that I was using the sorcr_l2 rom set.  I deleted that and downloaded the sorcr_l1 rom set and now the game works beautifully!

Checking the ROM set is 101 stuff.  I've been using MAME for years and checking the ROM sets should have been one of the first things I checked.  I truly do appreciate everyone's time and patience with me as the issue was indeed on my end, and a very basic issue.

Thank you again to everyone that has replied with help!  I can now enjoy this great table.

Jason
