Hmm. Have to get in contact with your friends to bride them to make more request :)
Not unexpected, another great VPX table from you JP !

Thank you !

Well, they asked me for Cheetah, and there are very few pictures of that table, so there will be a lot of photoshop work to do :)

Oh boy. I love your friends. The way I read it ... you are actually making it ? It has been on my secret want to have list for a long time already.

I guess I can hijack this thread since it is mine anyway :) Yes, I'm making Cheetah. I'm waiting for some more pictures before I finish the playfield and the plastics. Here it is the playfield so far (yes, I have redrawn everything :) )

Holy xxxx - that is better than what I expected ! Very happy to get this come to VPX JP. As you know, Bord has given us a few early Stern' already and I love them all. I can't remember that I've played any of these in real life, but, there is something about these early Stern's that just clicks for me. So, I'm really looking forward to play this one. Can't thank you enough for what you've done and are continuing doing for this community. Good luck with this build JP !

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

You can hit F6 while table is running, and it will bring up dipswitch menu, and you can adjust where High Score does not reward you 3 credits.

Hi.
I love this recreation of Count-Down made by the master JP but there is not a backglass available at the level of quality that this table deserves.
I have been working a bit on the only backglass available, from the teacher Wildman and I have been able to reduce a little the imperfections of the image, for this reason I share it here for a few days.
The one who made this backglass was WILDMAN, I have not done anything.
Greetings to all.

Hi Stat !

Yes, I tried to send him a private but he does not allow messages.

But here it is, I have no problem if he wants to update it or touch it up even more.

Best regards to you.

UPDATE

4.0.0 Updated 20.9.2022
- Updated to my VPX7 physics
- cleaned up and deleted unused graphics & reduced the size of the table
- Added my VPX7 LUT changer to darken the table (hold down LEFT CTRL while change with RIGHT CTRL). Including GI brightness adjustment. Use the LUT changer together with the day/night slider to give the table the level of darkness you prefer.
- Updated my mechanical set of sounds to a more "under the glass" sound, as people seem to like those kind of sounds better.
- Changed the Environment image to enhance a little the object shadows.
- Some small small script updates, like the Rolling sound and PlaySoundAt routines.
- Made the light inserts warmer.
- Added SSF sound commands.

The rom for this table does not seem to be valid anymore.  Anyone have a link for counterforce.zip?

Thanks,

Lance

This table is a Gottlieb table and the copyright owners have made all the websites to remove the Gottlieb ROMs, so you will need to search it. The rom name is countdwn.zip. Just do a simple search with google and you will find it.

Love this table! I actually own an original! I'm not sure why I don't hear any of the "electronic" sounds when hitting the rubbers, targets or saucer. I only hear the ball rolling and the "thuds" of the flippers, pop bumper, saucer kick, etc). Is there something I need to adjust in the Script? I didn't see anything "obvious", but I'm definitely not an expert. Thanks!

There is nothing you can add in the script since I already added a line to ensure the rom sounds are active. But your nvram may be corrupted, try first deleting the file countdwn.nv in your nvram folder. Quit VPX to remove vpinmame from memory before deleting the nvram file, just to be sure :)

If this don't work try downloading the rom again, or simply test the rom you have with pinmame32, to see if it is the correct rom or al older one.

@saecrow

1.start vpinmame

2.test countdwn

3.change game options (temp.) to "show dmd/display window" and press start so you can see the rom display at your desktop

4.click into the rom display and press the key left of "1" - a small settings window appears (its internal vpinmame)

it says "volume 0db" - leave this with cursor down so the other volume settings appears one after the other...

5.set the wanted volumes with the cursor left or right

don't change any other of the settings

when done, just press the "key left of 1" again, stop the emulation,  unclick set setting of 3.

close vpinmame

start the table and hear the rom sounds ;-)

Awesome! Deleting the nvram fixed it! Thanks JP - amazing work as usual!!!!

Thanks! I decided to try the quick/easy approach and deleted my nvram, which fixed it! I'll keep this handy for future though, thank you!

Was looking for a rom for Haunted House (Gottlieb 1982) here, but couldn't find it. But lots of other "takedown notices" concerning Gottlieb roms. Also IMDB removed them. OK. But why? From their Wikipedia page I reason that they ceased business in 1996 and no other company absorbed them. Shouldn't everything then be considered as abandonware?

Technically, there is not really much of a legal thing as abandoneware
And Gottlieb has an IP owner, and cessation of business does not cancel out ownership of IP
The IP owner mandated the removal, which they are within their legal rights to do so.

Almost always, when a company dies, SOMEONE gets the IP
and the IP does not legally become abandonware.

It is a matter of does the IP owner wish to make it an issue or not.

As Gottlieb still offers product in a digital form via FX3 and some other digital video arcade compilations (as they did make more than pinball)
Their IP is not defunct or abandoned and is still used in licensed commercial products, including the nintendo switch.

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways
