Does anyone have some metal images I can download? I am finishing up on the playfield objects placement and need some good metal images to start on the detailing.

Got done with a HUGE project for a customer, so now I can resume working on my table. Having a horrible time of trying to rip the audio off my dvd's so I can select the audio clips to use on the table. Adobe Audition is what I use for audio editing but it doesn't recognize ac3 format. Using DVD Decrypter to extract the audio to ac3 , but that is as far as I got on this endeavor. Any suggestions are most welcome. Thanks in advance! biggrin.gif

Why don't you record the music.
Try with this one. It is freeware, and you can record the music in good quality. biggrin.gif

AUDACITY

I hope this help you out.

I will do that. I do have audacity and it's one of the programs I use for converting vinyl and audio cassettes to cd. Now the thing is is figuring out how to rig things up so I can record the audio. Thanks for the input Robert! biggrin.gif

Just discovered how to record the audio if it works, I have a mode on my tv called monitor out. It allows for a second tv to display video and audio from the same source. Am going to hook up from that to my sound card and see if that works. Also I can watch Hogan's Heroes while the audio records. biggrin.gif

BeSweet combined with BeLight should be able to convert those files from AC3 for you.
Both are freeware/shareware, I believe. Look them up and give them a shot.
Should be a lot faster for you. biggrin.gif

Looking forward to the table!

Starting to do some graphical work on the table, but having a problem creating the image for use on the circular targets (some of the main playfield targets and one of the mini playfield's targets will be made with circular targets). Wanting to use the pic of a bullet upright for the circular targets but don't have the knowledge to create the image correctly for the project. Am currently using Paint.net to attempt the task.

Ugh. Image editing has more to it than meets the eye! When I tried to apply the bullet image I had to one of the targets, I only get a solid color on the side. And probably something to note, I haven't been able to make it into a circular image (for the circular targets) to save and then use on my table, I am either pretty ignorant or artistically challenged. biggrin.gif

Hey Practicedummy,

If you take a look at the last few posts in the 90's workshop, I made mention of the proper setting of "Auto-texture" co-ordinates on the "points" of a wall to make the image appear properly. Keep in mind that the image appears on the SIDE of the wall and not the top of the wall that makes up the target. Just look at a finished table and then highlight all of the "points" that make up the target wall to see the "auto-texture" co-ordinate settings.

I have a scripting question. I have kickers that I am using as scoops. When I shoot the ball into the kicker, I want to have a 3 second delay before the ball is kicked out. I have put timers on the table and set them for 3 seconds (3000 on the timer interval) and just need to know how to script the kicker to activate the timer and script the timer to kick the ball out of the kicker after the interval has passed.

Demo attached.... Ball goes into kicker and 3 seconds later is kicked out. I used the Kickers Timer, set at Timer Interval of 3000 and the box is not checked as that just makes the timer run at table initiation.

Hi Bob5453!

Could you help me please? I tried to use more than one kicker. Simply the second, third, fourth Kickers didn't work. The ball stucks on this kickers, except in the first. I used the same lines of your 3 seconds script, obviously changing the numbers of the kickers (Kicker1, Kicker2, kicker3, etc). What's my mistake?
Thanks a lot! smile.gif

Big Thanks to my friend Hassanchop for this very nice dmd.

Without seeing the code (script) you've actually used, I doubt anyone can tell you what mistakes you've made.

Post the script lines up here & I/we'll have a look at it.

Dan.

Ok Dan,
As I don’t have any experience in programming. I used several lines of script tutorials. It was a “patchwork quilt”… an expression that we use here when something is fully patched. So, some things worked partially on the table (but not exactly as I wanted) and others didn’t. I'm even embarrassed to post something so ugly here. blush.gif I thought it would be better if I send explanatory drawings what I intend to do on the table. Can I PM you or e-mail you?
Thank you! smile.gif

Marcelo

LOL - patchwork scripting is acceptable...most people use what others have done & stuff it into their scripts at some point, especially when they're just starting out (no point in trying to re-invent the wheel).

...but sure, send me a PM if you like smile.gif

Since I got done with that huge project I was working on, I was able to get back to work on my table. Been studying the techniques on the 90's workshop thread, and for the posts, have been studying JP Salas' Jokerz table and TRYING (mediocre success so far biggrin.gif) to recreate the way he makes the slingshot posts. Been having fun with the table so far and know that I will be putting in a lot of hours to get the final product finished.

aah sling posts! here are a few! just go into the color editor part and change all of them to whatever color you like I keep a demo table full of colored rubbers and posts so for each table there it is without having to make each one from scratch each time! so here are a few to get you started with a pic of what's in the zip file. that wall around the top of the sling is for a 'transparent' plastic. if you make one slightly smaller than that wall, it'll look like a real plastic since real ones aren't colored right to the edge but rather have a clear strip at the very edge of them! BTW yer welcome make good use of them biggrin.gif
ooh don't forget the lockbar at the foot of the table check elsewhere on this site for my upload of the zip file of side and lockbar images
that second image is a pic of MY demo table I keep for reference. it is chock full of stuff I have made for various pins, this is where I keep all custom colored stuff so just in case I need it again, there it is.

oh and an aside to patchwork scripting, I do it all the time especially on the 'start table and scoring' coding! why rewrite it all the time for each pin I make? I just copy and paste the needed coding into each and every original pin I make to cut down on time. Now that I understand coding better I can do just that, again I have a demo 'start' table with a custom plunger (with recoil) and the start and add scoring code all built into it, so when I need to start a new pin I just copy my 'skeleton' table for starters then can relax knowing all that's taken care of so I have only to make the custom stuff and not worry about all that standard crap 'cause there it is all in already.

Haven't had to worry about metal images too much as of yet. Robert Kundrat had guided me to a few and got a few from the 90's workshop.
How can I copy the slingshot posts from one table to another or is that possible? I think I tried this before without success.
