Table tested on Windows XP SP2, Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 processor with 4GB (2x2048MB), DDR2, PC2-8500, 1066 MHz, Platinum Series, Dual Channel RAM and a Gainward Radeon HD 4870 1GB GDDR5 Golden Sample Graphics Card.

ATI Catalyst 9.8 Display Driver for Windows XP including Catalyst Control Center.

Visual Pinball version 9.0.3

Hardware Rendering Graphic: OFF

DirectX 9.0c (1-5-2009)

Maybe updating DirectX will help for those who have problems ?

Check DirectX:

Start -> Run -> type 'dxdiag' -> enter -> tab DirectX files -> sort by date

My most recently dated files are 1-5-2009 (1 may 2009)

Cheers,

Hey d3xtro,

Are you having problems with this configuration? Damn, my computer is five years old (P4 HT 3.0GHZ, 1GB ram, Nvidia 6800) and runs very smooth this table with HR on ... The tables that aren't run well for me: circus voltaire (JP or Scapino versions) and some night mod by UW. All others have been run smooth. I was afraid to buy a new computer now ... smile.gif
Do you think the problem may be the ATI card?

Big Thanks to my friend Hassanchop for this very nice dmd.

I did a DX 9c update and had to do a Restore to solve many problems.
Not sure but i have most of My Add/Remove gone.Just about 5 listed and it should be
dozens of uodates and programs.
Check yours anyway.
I won't blame ATI for bad programming, although i know a lot of work has gone into
VP9 i'm glad i have an excellent VP8 installation.

Hi,

download the German romset from

http://www.ipdb.org/...earchtype=quick

and put it in your roms-Folder.

Then you have to go to the script of the table and edit line 24

from
Const cGameName = "ripleys" 'English

The table uses samples for the sounds, since it needs a very good computer to emulate the rom sounds.

Now, if your computer is quite fast, then you can enable to rom sounds. Do this:

- open the script and comment the line number 44 (add a ' at the beginning of the line) so it looks line this
' Set MotorCallback = GetRef("TrackSounds")

- change the 0 for a 1 in the line 55, so it looks like this:
.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("sound") = 1 'disable rom sound

Now the rom sound is enabled. And do what Manfredo wrote to use the German ROM, and you'll hear the German speech too. (I haven't checked if the German ROM has german speech, but I guess it does).

I must try once

Hi,

I did it just as you have described it!
The only thing that changed was the positive display of English on German has.
The sound is still only in English. I have yet tried to rename the roms of Ripley in ripleysg.
Brought but also no success.
Do you have any other ideas

Greetings Tom

Hi,

I again. So now I'm using the Visual Pinball Editor 9.0.3 I downloaded the VP8 table and saved the German language files. Then I invite my Vp9 table and spoke English to delete files. For this I will invite the German said a files. Now when I run the table, everything goes great, but the voice files to listen to Mickey Mouse gently! Is there a program that I can adjust the speed of sound language?

Greetings Tom

And in German

Hi,

Hi Tom,
I did it like JP described it and it worked fine! The table speaks german now.

Du hast ein winziges Detail vergessen. Vor die Linie 44 musst Du noch dieses Zeichen setzen( ' )!!

'Set MotorCallback = GetRef("TrackSounds")

So muss die Linie dann ausschauen.

Probieres mal aus, ich wusste auch nicht das es so funktioniert, aber es geht!

I have not been able to get the samples to play audible speech in this table. I did try to enable the roms as above which allows me to hear the speach and voices but the table was choppy

What do i need to do to enable the samples so that i can hear the English version? Thanks for any help

Just download the table again and all the sounds will work. All the sounds are played by VP, so no need for vpinmame special configurations.

I think there is a FS version at Hyperspin, but I guess I'll make my own version when I find better graphics. The ones in the table are made from the images in the manual, and they aren't very good, so just now there is no point in making the FS version.
