I have a feeling that you have a permission problem. It simply sounds like the config file that vp is trying to write, isn't - so, the next time it doesn't find it and asks again.

Do you run as administrator ?

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

I have a strange problem, The Game option thing comes every time I start the table... I answer OK  and OK and then F3. what do I do wrong?

I cant take credit for this workaround.... but it does work

Comment out line 114 in the script once you setup these settings to stop it asking every time you run it

love this table, thank you JP for giving these older tables the love they deserve.

a question , how would i go about changing the rebound angle of the captive ball  that sits in that chute on the right ? when i hit it square-on from the left flipper, it often goes straight down the left outlane. it's no biggie, but i wouldn't mind changing it ever so slightly.

thanks,

You'll need to change the shape of the wall: cbRwall. I made it curved so it will be more random were the ball hits it. I guess you may need to experiment a little with it.

I also had permission troubles I think creating the lostworld settings save file.  I copied from another machine and all seems good, just wondering about the permission trouble.  Win10x64.

Curious as to why you are using a trigger and a wall as opposed to just having a captive ball and let the ball to ball collision built into vp handle it all?

I'm using the cvpmCaptiveBall, as every author has been using since destruk made the core.vbs :) Read the vbsdoc_outdated.html, even if it is outdated, still everything in that document can be used in vpinmame tables. The core.vbs could use an update, and the document too.

Why cvpmCaptiveBall? Because if you put a ball, and make it rest between two walls, that ball will generate a lot of collisions, and if your cpu isn't very powerful you will notice that very quickly. Also a ball being held by walls or ramps, can start to rotate by itself, and even jump a little from time to time. I know these issues have been almost completely resolved in VPX, but still it will generate a lot of collisions. I know that it's no problem with my computer, but others will notice the loss in fps.

I think the settings issue was only on 10.3 as I upgraded to 10.3.1 and my settings issue seem fix.   Anyone else notice this?   I might be wrong

Nevermind, I had to copy the lostworld.nv nvram file from another machine to get rid of the set defaults messagebox that appears at start of game.  What is going on with my setup?  I don't run vpx with admin rights as that causes other issues (at least with pbxrecorder)  I tried running with admin rights, but same issue.  Strange as I don't think I used to have this issue.  I guess I will trye the comment out line fix, but very curious as to why this is happening.

At the moment I have solved it by deleting line 114 if Controller.Dip(0) < 1 then Controller.Pause = true:msgBox "Please select your game options!" & vbNewLine & "You will only have to do this once!":vpmShowDips:Controller.Pause = false

I do not know if it is well done or not, but it worked for me and while updating the table to solve that problem may be worth as a temporary solution.

I got the message every time I started the table in my cabinet and desktop mode in the work pc.

However in my son's machine did not give that mistake.

Great table. Trying to learn the rules of the game as it´s in a tournament soon. But it behaves a bit strange. Sometimes all letters are lit from start sometimes not. Almost always letters reset after ball 1 but remembers lit down letters for ball 3?! Bonus lights also a bit weird as many single numbers can be lit up at the same time. Not sure if anything should be remembered in an old table as this. I'm still new to VP and wonder what is done in which software. Isn't it the ROM that holds all the logic around points and rules? But objects in the table must be mapped to something in the ROM...ah, looks like another stupid question already but hey I'm trying to learn here... :)

Hmm, strange, got the ROM from another download, without licence file in the archive, all other files has same size and date, replaced the Rom I got and now it works fine, odd behaviour.

I d/l the ROM yet the table never loads. It just gets to the Starting Game w/the blue bars ....and then 'stops'. Never loads.

Hello,

I didn't see any comments here, so maybe the problem only appears here...

this table only has the sounds of flippers, rolling balls, the mechanics of bumpers, slingshots etc... there is no music

I don't know if it's a ROM problem, as they all initially show a corrupted file message, but loading the table for the second time it runs normally, but without sound...

any tips?

hug and thank you
